While thumbing through our up-to-date reference materials (1956 World Book Encyclopedia) I came upon this picture under "Lighthouse." Anybody familiar with this light?

If you are framilar with East St Louis, IL. You might believe that it was stolen, and never recovered.

For all you Simpsons fans...

Homer-"I'm taking a trip to St. Louis."
AAA Guy-"East St. Louis?"
Homer-"Is there any other?"

I know, I'm a geek. :p

I know that East St. Louis gets a bad rap but I sure met a great young man from that town years ago. Back in '89 my daughter Linda was in the processs of visiting colleges and we went to U of I at Champaign-Urbana. The tour guide that we had was from East St. Louis and he was the very best of all the tour guides we'd had, very knowlegeable, polite and down to earth.
