For those of you who will be home on July 4th, MSNBC will be doing a live broadcast of the tall ships parade in New York Harbor from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Thanks for the info. I've always wanted to see them. We had friends that lived on Lake Ontario and they would always rave at how great it was to see the "Tall Ships."

Just got back from a great weekend with my daughter in Newport, RI where I got to see and tour a number of the tall ships prior to their NYC trip. They are a beautiful sight, especially as they pass in front of one of our favorite lighthouses!

The ships were beautiful but I don't think that MSNBC did all that good of a job in covering the event. Too much hopping around, too many interviews, too many commercials, and not enough of the ships.

The advantage of working in a newsroom at a TV station is that you can have the tall ships parade pictures brought in by satellite all day long when you have to work on a holiday.

PSB had lots of stories but not too many ships either. They started at 9 and ended at 12.

We just got back from Maine and Nova Scotia, couldn't stay until the Tall Ships made their way up the coast. If anyone takes pictures please post them for all of us to see.
