Washington Lightkeepers Association is up and running. Thanks go to all the Forum folks who joined and to the boards of other state lighthouse groups--people who helped us launch our own state association. Also thanks to John Chidester who has done so much to help us get started. John is a human lighthouse! If we can answer any questions or help anyone with travel info, etc. please contact us. We'd like to hear your comments and concerns about Washington's lights. Email us to find out about membership. We'd like to add you or your family to one of our "orders of lenses." We named our membership levels for the Fresnel lenses and chose a lantern and lens logo. They are good metaphors for the guiding light we hope to be for our members and anyone interested in Washington lighthouses and lightships. Thanks to all of you from Elinor DeWire, president, and the rest of the WLA Board of Directors--Jeanne Panciera, Bob Tellier, Jon DeWire, Kathy Mellecker, Gloria Wahlin, and Bruce Robie.

Congrats to the WLA! It is also so nice of your fine organization to offer assistance to anyone who wishes to visit the lights of Washington. Best of luck on this and future endeavors.

Glad to have you part of the CF. We love Washington and as you can see by our avatar, New Dungeness is one of our favorite lighthouses. One day we hope to tour the lights in the San Juan Islands. It's good to have a source to guide us on our next visit.

I should introduce WLA who is Elinor DeWire, the moving force behind organizing the Washington Lighthouse Association and Sentinel Publications.

The new Association is off to a great start and several of our CF members have already joined.
