Hello to all, I am a native Floridian raised in and have never lived outside of FL. I have the priviledge of living in the Nations Oldest City, St. Augustine. If you ever travel through St. Augustine be sure to go up in our lighthouse. You will see the most spectacular views of ocean and intracoastal. I only have a few lighthouses as I will only collect HL and can only add slowly. This site is great and looks to be very helpful
and friendly!

Welcome Wingfree --

Glad you joined us. The St. Augustine lighthouse remains the 'quintessential' lighthouse in my mind. I had a chance to climb it in 1998 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Wingfree,Welcome! When it comes to collecting HLs,the hunt is alot of fun.It doesn`t matter how many you have so long as you have the desire to hunt them.

Welcome aboard wingfree,I agree with you St.Augustine is a very nice place.I spent quite a bit of time there in 45-46 when I was stationed at Green Cove springs.I first saw the light in 45 and am a member.Ialways stop there when I get to the east coast and go to some of the programs they have at the light. You have gotten in with a bunch of very helpful people. If you need any information all you need do is ask.

Welcome Wingfree! What a place to live. My wife and I stayed in St. Augustine this summer and I climbed it three times in three days. Needless to say, St. Augustine is a close second right behind Nubble for my favorite. I also became a member. You will love these forums.

Welcome Wingfree.

I drove thru you fine city last month. It is truly a beautiful place. We did get a chance to stop at the lighthouse, but due to trying to get to too many places in too few days I was unable to climb the Lighthouse that day.

I hope to get back there in the future.

Enjoy your self in the forums. Ask the right questions and you'll learn more than you thought possible from this crew.

Hi Wingfree- glad to have you aboard!
You are going to meet some of the nicest people in the world here!
You are so fortunate to live near St. Augustine LH- it really is a gem. We visited there in August 1999- it was the first LH I ever climbed. That's a big accomplishment for me because I am afraid of heights. We also visited the Castillo de San Marcos while there- it is very well preserved and has a great history!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Wingfree. Just a warning though, I said I'd only collect a few , that was a year and 85 L.E.'s ago! These things are just too addicting!
