I really am looking forward to being apart of the HL community. Guess I should answer a few questions. Stealthbear is a combination of a couple things. My youngest daughter used to have a stuffed bear she hugged to death and his name was Binky Bear. My daughter said I was mommy's binky bear because she hugged me all the time. So my wife would address packages at Christmas for me from her as TO BINKY BEAR. The stealth part was that I used to own a twin turbo Dodge Stealth, I got to old and it was too fast so I was told it was time to drive something more appropriate for my age. But I loved that car so my id has been stealthbear for years. As for by HL collection it's really my wifes. The first time we stayed at the Oregon Coast as a couple we stayed in a cottage called the Lighthouse. To remember that on each of our wedding aniverseries I have bought her a Harbour Lights Lighthouse starting in 1992. So I bought them because of how beautiful both she and I thought they were not has a future investment. However it was brought to my attention some of them may be worth a lot of money and if that is the case my homeowners insurance will not cover them if they are ruined in someway. The sentimental loss would be huge but if I wanted to replace them I would never get the money from the insurance unless I claim them and pay for additional coverage. So I'm hopeing to get an idea of what they may be worth insurance wise so I know how much extra coverage I most likely will have to get. Truthfully I haven't the slightest idea although looking through the postings on this board I have seen something about low numbers which we have a couple like #117 and several in the 120-140's that may be of substantial value at least in excess of what my insurance will cover. Second is how much my wife and I have enjoyed learning about lighthouses. We have pictures and other items throughout our home related to the beautiful lighthouses located here in Oregon, all of which we have visited. We have some of the Oregon Harbour Lights lighthouses but there are others that I know we would like to get at sometime.
So would love hearing from folks here on the sight and talk about the things I mentioned.

Welcome to the forums stealthbear! Appreciate that you posted some background info about yourself and how you started collecting. My husband wasn't crazy about visiting a lighthouse until he got there and discovered how much there was to learn about them! He knows how much I love the HL pieces so he purchases them for me for all the special occassions. The lower the number on the limited editions the more desireable they are... so single and double would have more value. A great source of information is the Harbour Lights Collectors Guide along with collectors here on the forums. You can check out the guide on Harbour Lights website. Well worth the money! Also check out the Collectors Exclusive Limited Edition piece...Wisconsin Point Lighthouse. It is an awesome piece with only 500 produced!

Welcome Stealth Bear to the LF Sorry I have been late to send a message. I have been knee deep in dealing with the financial alligators of today's economic situation. I sure hope we bottom out soon. I've had to lay off 40% of my staff. Ouch! But I do want to welcome you to the Lighthouse Keepers forum. You will find lots of very interesting topics. You can be as active as you want - get involved with good discussion topics or simply log on and read what is happening in the world of lighthouses. This is the best website on the Internet to find out anything you want to know about lighthouses. Good luck to you and again, welcome!
