Ruthie: Congratulations on becoming a wacko. You are such an enthusiastic poster and so concerned about lighthouses. I look forward to reading your spirited posts in the future. You will now be elgibile as a wacko to vote on the list of top nominations for the pin, which Lamar will be posting on the General Forum shortly.

Oops! I see I missed the magic number 50 on this thread. I travel most of the summer on my boat and I leave the computer at home. Thanks for squaring the thread away for me, Paul. Most important, welcome the the new members of the Collector Forum who have chosen to join the "The Harbour Lights Family of Friends." This is a great place to meet fellow collectors and to get answers to most any question about the finest collectible in the world. Bob

We started collecting lighthouses after going on a tour at Cresent City, CA. We plan our trips around lighthouses. Just finished our first trip to Main and Nova Scotia. We saw 39 lighthouses. We have over 200 HL. Haven't started to collect the little HLs yet. Don and I are from Cibolo, Texas.

JoAnn,
Welcome to the forums. This is THE place to be for people who love the lights. I'm planning on going to Nova Scotia next year, so I might have to get in touch with you later to plan the trip. We just got back from a trip to Disney World, and I insisted on checking out the lights. We stopped in Savannah to spend the night and wanted to see the city. We didn't see much of the city but we ended up at Tybee Light somehow, at least my wife thinks it was an accident. From then on we made as many stops as possible. We saw about eight lights headind down including Morris which I thought was rather neat! Which lights to you get to explore?

Hi Kyujin, welcome to the friendliest chat post around. You will find the people here friendly, helpful and very caring. Oh, I forgot, very, very informative about lighthouses, especially Harbour Lights. After you post awhile you will even think of them as family. Have fun. Ruthie

Hi Kyujin, and welcome aboard. You will find that this is one of the greatest locations on the Internet... second only to the Harbour Lights (HL) website! If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask. There are many here who have been collecting for years, who are very informative. When you get the chance, please join us for a live chat each week. Information regarding these chats can be found in the Harbour Lights website at www.harbourlights.com Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Hi everyone. Everyone here is so nice. I started collecting since last Christmas. My wife got me Key West and Point Loma GLOWS and I have been hooked since. I have 13 pieces now. I try to limit them to the lights I've visited. So far I've been to Point Loma, St Auggie, Ponce, St Simon, Amelia Island, Mayport (both), Tybee, Cockspur and Fort Gratiot. My favorite is Point Loma since it was my first lighthouse I got to visit. I hope to go see Sapelo soon and head down south to see some more.

Hi Kyugin. Collecting Harbour Lights and being able to visit the "real lighthouse" is one of the best parts of this hobby. I'm glad that you decided to start posting & sharing your thoughts with your new extended family of connected Harbour Lights collectors. I look forward to reading more posts from you in the future.

George - it's the URL that is the problem. Here is the correct URL: http://members.aol.com:/pharologst/lighthouse2.gif
Now you need to put this in front: (img) and this at the end (/img) BUT replace the parentheses with square brackets. No spaces between these leading and trailing instructions and the actual url.
HOWEVER, please make the length of the image 500 pixels not 700. That will help those who have a 'standard' display of 640x480 NOT to have to scroll left and right on any threads you use that image on.

George, George, George...
See my other note elsewhere. You CANNOT insert an IMAGE through the Signature feature.
1) You can enter it by hand (as you did successfully above) or
2) Put it in the signature, then immediately click on the EDIT icon (paper & pencil) and without editing anything, click on Submit. That will 'activate' your image icon.
Give #2 a try to your message above with the broken image links.
John
P.S. If you'll permit a bit of artistic criticism, your lighthouse beam is sweeping the ground - more like a searchlight on a prison guard tower. Your first effort showed a beam sweeping horizontally at lantern room height.

John I'm a little dense and still don't quite understand option #2 above. Do you mean place the url (without the {img}) in the signiture PROFILE and then immediately hit EDIT/SUBMIT after I have submitted a post?? Also, I much prefer the other gif as well, but have been unable to save it in reduced format. George The following entered by hand Looks OK to me on width even though it is actually wider!!
