Hi everybody!

I figure that now I am on the verge of becoming a WACKO (and after months of lurking) I had finally better say hello. My name is Chris and I live in northern NJ. I have been collecting HLs for less than a year, but I have been interested in lights for a long time. The richness of the history of the lighthouse service and lifesaving service has been increasingly irresistable to me over the past few years. Lighthouses also present a good excuse to travel! I am trying to collect those lights I have been fortunate to visit, and each one I have been able to obtain has brought back many good memories. The natural beauty which generally surrounds lighthouses as well as their unique architecture also lends itself to another growing hobby of mine: photography. I have received many great tips down in that section of the board, and I look forward to seeing you down there! It was nice to meet a few of you at the Regional Event, and I hope to see you again soon around the country. My WACKO pin will be in the next batch!

Chris

Chris, Welcome aboard! You couldn't be more right about using lighthouses to travel. I don't think I would have ever gone to half the places I have thanks to lighthouses. I most likely would never have gone to places like Hunting Island and Tybee Island and a whole bunch of others on my own. Half of the fun is just getting to the lights for me. I enjoy the driving though new towns and enjoying the views.

Welcome Chris,

Nice to have you onboard. I agree with all that was said about the traveling and the uniqueness of the lights. I guess it's just like all of us here on the forums, all unique and a big help to one another. Hope to see some of your pictures when you can post them. I think we all would like to see more pictures on the forums. I like to see what lighthouses in other parts of the country look like and I like to post some of my own. It's nice to see how different we sometimes see a picture and capture it on fim.

Again welcome aboard!

Bert

Welcome Chris!

Glad to have another NJ person aboard.

Have you considered joining the NJ Lighthouse Society? It's a great bunch of Lighthouse people who get together a few times ayear en masse and run some functions all during the year.

We're always looking for new blood.

Dennis

Welcome Chris! Your NJ lights were some of the first I ever traveled to after becoming a HL collector. They remain some of my favorites. Thanks for introducing yourself. We are happy to have another NJ Wacko.

Welcome, Chris, and congratulations on attaining the esteemed status of Wacko. As you may be aware, you are now responsible for proving Krispy Kreme donuts for all the existing Wackos.

Others need to take Chris' lead and get your Wacko Name Badge ordered! We are approaching 150, and I know that there are many of you who have yet to order. And, to make it even better, you don't have to wait to achieve Wacko status to order - any Connected Collector is encouraged to get a name badge and help us raise funds for Block Island SouthEast Light.

Chris,

Welcome to the forum officially! Count yourself as very lucky to live on the East Coast with so many Lighthouse so near to visit. Not so easy in Colorado...easy heck its darn near impossible LOL.

Am going to jump over the the Photo Gallery and look for some of your photos now!

Take care,

MelJB
