I saw that the 2001 Regional Event piece is Cape St. George, Fl. My question is that does anyone know if the Regional Event schedule for 2001 is out yet? I haven't seen anything lately. Thank you for your help.

Expect to see the Regional event schedule with the next Legacy newsletter tentatively scheduled for mailing the first half of February.

Right now the first Regional Event is scheduled for Tampa FL late March or early April.

You will not have to attend a Regional Event to purchase the Cape St. George FL piece. You will be able to buy it from any sponsoring dealer. These dealers will be listed with each Regional Event.

Bill,
Think your dealer has the last issue of the Legacy, not the yet to be released one. Eddystone was prominent in it.

One other regional that is identified is one in Chicago on Father's Day weekend. Guess would be it will be held at Navy Pier.

The Father's Day weekend event is the Collectors Festival 2001. (The web site is www.collectiblesguild.com/show.html.) It is my understanding that Harbour Lights is moving from the Rosemont show to this one. The Rosemont show was never a "HL regional event" to my knowledge. Dave, are you sure that the Navy Pier show will be a regional event?

Frank,

According to MO, in last weeks chat, the Navy Pier show on Fathers Day weekend will be a regional event this year. If you don't think this is right just call them up and ask this week. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information. I knew I could purchase the piece at my dealer, but I was unsure of where the location to the events would be. It was nice to hear that Tampa will be the first one . Thanks for your e-mail Derith.

So the next Legacy goes out by three-legged pack mule early February and the regional event in Tampa is in March. I'm glad I got the event information here since I usually get the Legacy a minimum of three weeks after it gets posted.

Frank,
The Chicago Regional will be the weekend of the collectibles show, June 16-17. The regional will probably be Saturday night.

But the Regional Event will be at a different location from the Collectibles Show, right? I think this is what's causing the confusion. Or am I all wet (in Chicago, no way!)?

Sue,
I don't think that has been decided yet. I would think they would keep it close to where the show is not only so the HL folks could attend, but also so the collectors at the show are not chasing it all over Chicago.

This will probably be the regional with the most HL home folks in attendance, which will really add an extra special touch to this one.

Maureen has hinted to me some exciting things for the Regionals this year. She is going to try to give each one a special little "twist" to keep things exciting. Makes me wish I had enough $$$ to get to each of the events!

I also heard the events were going to be more like the first Atlanta event, with many displays of the retired L.E's.

At the Tampa event it woul be nice
if Harbour Lights had a boat trip to Egmont Key Light house with private tour of the lighthouse. The only access to the island is by boat. There are a few ferries that make daily trips to the island.

Daniel & Bill,
You might make that a suggestion to the Tampa Bay HL Collector's Club. If you aren't a member you probably should be, they are great folks. Perhaps they would consider organizing a trip the weekend of the regional event.

By the way, the regional will be on April 1st (no foolin') and it will be a day time event.

For those playing along at home, the California regional will be an evening event on April 28th, which is the weekend of the Anaheim show. Bill signing events will start in mid-March. Details will be out shortly.

I noticed in a post by Saint John in the thread for the "Lighthouse For The Day" that a comment was made tht BY would be in St. Augustine on 3/17/01. Is that info and the rest of the 2001 schedule of signings and events been published yet and I just haven't seen them or was that a little known fact?

Not yet published, Jim. The dates you see above are true, but the whole schedule awaits finalization.
