Good Afternoon,

Great News! We finally have some new information on the Annual Signing Event!

The unveiling of the event piece will be at the Cape Hatteras Coast Guard Station in Buxton on Saturday, May 27th at 10:00am.

The signing event will follow at the Comfort Inn in Buxton. The time will be 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Part of the proceeds from the day's sales will be donated to the Fessenden Community Center and the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society (for the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse).

We plan on having a great time with food and beverages. We still do not have the final price of the event piece. But it's not to late to place your reservation for one, (even if you plan to attend the event). This will be an exciting time for all!

The Oak Island, North Carolina and Round Island, Mississippi (then and now) have arrived in the store and they look great. Please give us a call if you would like us to send you either of these two great pieces.

The American Shoals and Lady Liberty have still not arrived. Please bear with us, I'm sure they'll be here soon. We'll let you know as soon as they get here.

We would sincerely appreciate you calling or emailing us directly if you have any questions concerning this or past messages. You can always email us if you would like to be removed from the update service.
Our toll free number is 1-800-579-2827.

Hey John,

Do you know when the HL "Home Office" folk are going to arrive in NC?

I don't know yet, Derith. Maybe the day before - Friday? But it's just a guess.

Looking forward to a fun time.

Hey there Sean (fellow shipmate)... at this time, my wife and I plan on going. Unfortunately, we have a family reunion the same weekend (Sunday), but we are going to try and make part of it. While there, we want to make our trek up to Bodie Island as well as Currituck. Hope to see you there!

I will be at the event on Saturday and stay until Tuesday morning when I am off to spend a few days with my Mother. I would like to get a group together to do a fly over of all the lights. If several go, it will be less expensive. Let me know if you are interested.

We are going to be there!!! Will be arriving late Friday night and staying right there in Buxton. Spending most all of Saturday right there with the signing. Sunday morning, it's off on the South leg, seeing Cape Lookout and Ocracoke. That afternoon is open. Monday it's off to the North. Stopping in at Bodie and Currituck. On the way home, we plan on seeing Cape Henry and Old Point Comfort in Virginia. So it's a full weekend, seeing 7 lighthouses and plan on making the most of it.
Worst part of it all....we try to buy thoses that we see, so we just have to try and find a Ocracoke HL#135 somewhere CHEAP! And you know that's not going to be easy.

Medicman... sounds like you have a full itinerary. We hope to be there, and meet you as well as the rest of the bunch who will be there.

Sean... well, if Rich is (QM), we will just have to find it in ourselves to overlook it. I hope things work out for our trip to Buxton. It will be tight as my wife has her annual family reunion that weekend. Ugh!

Knock off that QM stuff Tim. I was a boat driving Boatswain's Mate. Just cause I couldn't make it as a Chief doesn't mean I don't know the right specialty.

For those of you attending, I've been notified by Lighthouse Gallery that the location of the signing itself has changed to the Comfort Inn, Buxton NC.... a hop, skip and jump away from the Community Center where it was originally to be.

Be sure to make a note of this change and pass the word to others who might be attending.

Thanks for the update John. I wonder what room they are going to hold the signing in? Since that's where we are staying...maybe I can get the room next door so I won't have to walk very far to get mine signed We are getting excited and can't wait to get on the road for it.
Sorry to hear that you won't be making the trip but glad to hear the good news part of your message.

From Lighthouse Gallery & Gifts, Nags Head NC:

Quote:
Good Evening,

Just a few more days (Saturday the 27th) until the unveiling of the "Hatteras on the Move" by Harbour Lights. It's going to be an exciting time in Buxton, North Carolina. We're going to start at 10:00 am at the Coast Guard Station in Buxton, which is located off of Highway 12 at the end of Old Lighthouse Road. We'll be right out front by the flag pole. Bill Younger will do the honors and present the first piece to the Executive Officer of the station.

We will then move to the Comfort Inn, just a few blocks away, on the corner of Old Lighthouse Road and Highway 12. From 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (or so...), there will be some great food and beverages, along with entertainment from Mojo Collins. Just look for all the blue and silver balloons and signs, along with the 104.1 radio station van. Cape Hatteras will also be open for climbing for the first time since the move.

If you've already ordered your piece, don't worry, this message is just a reminder with the last minute details.

If you haven't ordered your piece yet there's still time to call 1-800-579-2827 to get this wonderful piece on order. They are $65.00's and worth every nickle. If you are not attending, not a problem, we will ship you a signed piece, or any other Harbour Light that is currently available that you would like signed. We even have Bill signing a few of the "Bill Younger Dolls".

Hope to see you there,

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend,

Cindy
