Good Wednesday Morning!

Bill is ready - feeling GREAT and back "on the road again!" "I am ready to do what I love to do - be with my Collectors!"

There are three Events remaining in 2008:

The FIRST ....

This is a wonderful time to come to the beautiful state of Maine! The foliage will be debuting - the color promises to be spectacular!
It is Bill's first time out since March, it would be a real tribute for his collectors to be out in full gorce!

West Coast collectors, there are two Events:

Saturday October 25th 11:00-2:00
City Lights 1212 Knoxville St. San Diego CA
City Lights always does it up BIG! Great fun and great food!

Sunday October 26th 1:00-3:00
Mole Hole of Portland SW Beaverton Hwy. Beaverton OR
i know Lida is planning a GREAT day of fun!

Let's welcome Bill back!

AJC

I'm actually in Maine the weekend of the signing. I'm hoping I can make it to the signing.

Unfortnately I have to drive Esther north of Portland that day for a wedding shower so it may not work out.

The news about Bill's final 2008 appearances is now available through the October Musings at www.HarbourLights.com.

Harry will be at the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival in Alpena only on October 11. (No Gold at this event.)

Harry also has a store event at Aggies in Cary NC on October 26. There will be a Gold at this event.

Don't forget one more chance to win a Gold Regional Event through the drawing in early December. Details are here .

The 2008 Regional and Store Event Exclusives could end up being among the rarest limiteds. Don't say nobody warned you. Better get yours now.

Contact one of the stores where Bill is appearing to get the Store Event piece and use the link above to purchase the Regional Event piece.

We missed Bill at the signing event last month at Virginia Beach. We still had the event but not the same without Bill. I'm glad that Bill's health is getting better where he can do what he loves. Aggie's informed me two weeks ago that Harry was coming. Thank you Harbour Lights for having an event 10 minutes from my home with Harry. Two signing events in one year..I will take that.

I was there this past Saturday. I had a great time. I got to speak a bit with Tony about HL & other subjects. Very nice person and had a great conversation. didn't learn any secrets, though. laugh

I got to meet up with some friends from NELL- Tom Pregman and Lee Hall (who won 6 prizes including the Gold signing piece. I did win a HL denim shirt, though.)

Bill was in great spirits and was his usual warm witty self- with a quick retort now and again when required.

Here's a photo from the signing- Bill is on the right. laugh

I didn't see anybody else from this list there, though.

I'd guess that over the 2 1/2 hours about 100 people showed up and about 35 of them waited around for the drawing.

Looking good Bill. You'll only feel better as time heals. Santa brought me the "chest zipper" last year. We're both lucky for another chance.

I became a member of the "Zipper" Club in September 2003. It's definitely nice to be able to talk about it over 5 years later.

Count the Bradys in for the Regional and hopefully a couple of the Bill events.. We just bought a new Camry Hybrid and are itching for a couple of road trips especially if the price of gas stays down.

500 Event pieces should go pretty quickly..

Wow !!! What is everybody hibernating !!!

We get news that the store event piece is only going to be a limited edition of 500 pieces and only be available at 14 stores, and only a handful of responses???

Maybe all these pieces need to be signed by Bill to get everyones blood pumped?

Bill is only going to be available for 5 signings which includes only one regional event. Makes you wonder what those five locations are. No Cape Annie's, probably no Saint Augustine signing. I think this years store event piece is going to sellout fast. Maybe even before it ships.

I know I'd like to have the list of 14 stores ASAP, so I can reserve one, maybe even two.

I think once the store event piece is announced as to which lighthouse it is, then we can get a little excited, however I don't see the craze at this point except the edition size that was announced.

Putting into perspective, how many Wisconsin Points were made?.... hum, not all of them are sold.

When the store event piece, Racine, WI was announced two years ago, and that the original edition size was not going to be met, but rather only 750 or so was going to be available, did these sell out immediately....NO.

This post isn't necessary ment to be directed towards Loon recent response, but rather that the announcement of what lighthouse it is has not come yet. Be patient!!

Unfortunately, about as much chance as there is of me winning the lottery (and those that know me are well aware of my luck with drawings - I think JJ is the only person I know with worse luck). The location being considered is a nice one, hopefully the final decision will be made soon.

Since hints were dropped, I guess it's okay to guess the store event piece: Duxbury Pier, MA?

Duxbury would be the obvious choice, but there once was another "Bug" light is MA.
The gone but not forgoten Narrows Light was also known as "Bug" light.
That is why I asked if we still needed the bug spray.
Haven't tied in the "waterproof" hint yet.

Wow, you are reading too far into this....

Bug Spray would be of no use out on the open water if it wasn't water proof. It would wash off as soon as a big wave splashes against the boat and made you wet.

The hint was the "Bug" part....

So with that said, backing up a little, you are right, there are two (2) lights in MASS that are referred to as the "Bug Light" by locals. (or is there possibly three....)

Breaking it down further, the "gone but not forgotten" Narrows light, also referred to as the Bug Light, mentioned by LOON's post is an excellent choice, however with it being a screwpile type light, HL would not be able to make this light between the price range of $40-70 as seen in previous years Store Event pieces, due to the intricate metalwork. Just look at how much the other HL screwpile replicas like Thomas Point, Drum Point, Hooper Strait, Half Moon Reef, Roanoke River, etc. retailed for when they were released.

Just remember, no where in this post or other post did I actually say what lighthouse the Store Event piece actually is...... wink

You're right about the price ruling out Narrows Light. Kinda hoped it was though. Maybe we'll see it someday.

I think it was obvious it wasn't going to be the Narrows "Bug" light. The key here is that we are on the right track with the "bug" hint ment a "bug" lighthouse.

The quotes around the word WATERPROOF did throw me off. Usually a quoted word is a direct hint. Since the term "waterproofing a lighthouse" is used often, I dug in that direction.

We need more hint dropping around here to make the announcement of future releases a bit more fun.

Thanks for the hints, Christopher !!!

I can confirm that the store event lighthouse will be the Duxbury Pier Light.. I was told by Tony that I could share this with our club this past weekend and I was waiting for one of them to post it here, just couldn't wait any longer. It will be $68 I believe, Christopher, not $61 as you posted in your hint above..

That's correct. The $61, as reported earlier, was an early proposed price which has since changed to $68.

I am glad the name of the piece has finally been "officially" announced, as I have turned blue, 'coded', shocked, and was brought back since I first learned of this piece several weeks ago.

Sure did take HLs long enough to allow the "beans to be spilled", eventhough the piece was already guessed here in the forums by a few folks.

Pictures of the actual HL replica have already been posted and it looks great! Another winner by Harry. Only 550 pieces!

The 2009-2010 HL collectors society pieces are NEXT!

The price went from $61 to $70, then changed to $68 about a week ago.

Duxbury is one I proposed to Tony last year!
vhappy
Here's more info on it.
http://www.thecapecodstore.com/encyclopedia/duxbury_pier_ma.html
They're only available at those stores which have an event. The rest of us will get a shot at 'em if any remain when the last event is completed.
And no, I haven't been informed as to what stores are holding events this year.

Any of the four or five major HL dealers that are on the internet will GLADLY sign you up for either the store or regional pieces. Why wait? You can order TODAY! All you gotta do and search for it on the internet.

I won't mention any store names as to be fair, but it's not very hard to figure out who will be getting the event pieces... unless Roland knows something I don't.

beanie Actually the list is important, especially if I want to buy from a little guy and not the bigger dealers. Shipping costs and local pickup are also other factors.

I'm going to check the websites of the 4 Bill signing event stores.

*** Does anyone know if the 14 stores will be shipping as soon as Duxbury is in stock or will we have to wait for their event day?

Chris,
Regional pieces are no problem. We can sign you up at any time for shipping when they arrive. The "in-store" event piece is just that, available at the stores who are hosting signing events. No matter the size of the dealer, those pieces won't be available to anyone else until all events are completed and only if there are pieces remaining. And Loon, I would say that the in-store event pieces in all likelihood would not be shipped until after the event. How you gonna get it signed if it's gone before Bill or Harry get there?

I was refering to the non-Bill events, those stores will receive their stock pre-signed. If they get their shipment in advance of their store event, will they ship asap?
