Three Harbour Lights in-store events already held in April, three more in Colorado starting tomorrow.

I don't think we've seen a picture of the Detroit River Bar Thumbnail yet, so here's the first:

HL696Th 6/8" high 5/8" wide, 4/8" deep (Shown 5x+ Life Size)

Better check the event schedule to see when and where you can get one:

Not the greatest picture, but I posted an image that was sent to me on March 27th in this thread . Another very detailed thumbnail.

No problem. You have a better picture, lets everyone see the great detail on the piece. Hard to believe they are able to get that detail on a piece that is so small. I had a difficult enough time trying to paint an ornament and a LL, can't begin to imagine what goes into painting a thumbnail.

Here comes a question from a relatively new collector

We know that a thumbnail can be had at "events" and so can event pieces ... OK,so we have our "Detroit River" events piece on order to be signed etc. Does that automatically come with a thumbnail, or do you have to order those separately?

And what's more, can you order thumbnails, or do you have to appear in person to get one?

Harbour Lights does not sell thumbnails to collectors. They began as special gifts to those who attended reunions. The first two reunions had pretty substantial overruns and Bill, Nancy & Kim gave them to collectors at signing events. In Bill's case, you sometimes had a better chance of getting one if you sent the kid in for you...

The last two reunions have not had excess quantities of thumbnails produced. HL began to produce a thumbnail of the signing event piece that the family members could give to collectors at signing events. The one exception was the thumbnail included in the boxes of the Collectors Society version of the Hooper Strait piece (Baltimore Reunion).

Many dealers will ask Bill for a quantity of thumbnails to include with the signing event pieces sent to their customers. I would be sure to ask the dealer to include one for you if at all possible.

I ordered a signed Detroit River piece from the March 18th Bill Younger signing at the Bronze Lady of Orlando. I didn't know to ask for a thumbnail, so I didn't get a thumbnail. frown

Wish I could have Bob, but I didn't. I was just responding to Dave's statement that it wouldn't hurt to ask if your placing a mail order for the piece.

Thanks for the offer RIP, but due to the health of my mother-in-law, we haven't been able plan any lighthousing this year. We definately would have done the LI event if we could. Maybe by mid-summer or fall lighthouse trips will be possible.

If it's possible to drop it in the mail. I send you a check for the cost.

The LIChapter will be selling Detroit River Lighthouse event piece at the LI Lighthouse Challenge. I'm expecting Bill Younger, who will be there, will bring the thumbnails. So if they're available, I will include a thumbnail with each full size event piece purchased. Email me if you're interested.
thanks,

I bought my Detroit River piece from the Bronze Lady in Orlando back in March. Should have waited for the LI Lighthouse Challange. It would have been my first thumbnail lighthouse.

Oh well... Still hope to participate in the NJ Lighthouse Challange.
