The weather was absolutely glorious! The leaves haven't fully turned but those that have are just beautiful. We had just a fabulous time and the weather didn't get bad until Thursday morning. When I left the hotel, it was pitch black with heavy rain, thunder and lightning. I had weather delays all the way to Houston. I was supposed to arrive here by 12:30 yesterday - finally landed at 5:30 - bad weather caused a delay in leaving Portland, made me miss my connection in Philly and kept us circling around Houston for about 45 minutes. A cheap price to pay for a wonderful trip!

Grace, Susan and I were stuck on the airfield for 2 hours with screaming kids (going to Disney)before they fixed the problem...but better than crashing!

Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all. Whish we could have been there.

The pictures are brilliant! Thanks for posting them! But ... confused

Could someone make some comments about "who and what" on the pictures please? Just for us un-knowing people, who have never seen any of you godd folks and don't know the lighthouses by sight

Sorry to be a pain, but I wonder if I am the only one that can't put names to the faces of the diners or name all the beautifull lights?

Margret, I'm not sure Paul is home yet. He'll add the caption later. I arrived home this morning at 1 am. Was a little late for work but I made it in.
The weather was gorgeous and we did some amazing lighthousing and met many wonderful people.

Paul is indeed not home yet. We just had lunch this afternoon and he was going on to tour some of the wine country of upstate NY this afternoon. Probably at least tomorrow night before he gets to Indy.

What cruise was this? Was it a "Wacko custom" or a "rack trip?" Just because I'm kind of thinking about going to Maine next summer (kind of "on the cheap," but seeing as many lights as possible, with lots of cruises). I've been poking around the interweb, and I've seen cruises that cover almost all of these lights, but not all of them.

All these Regional photos and posts are great trip-planning fodder! I haven't pored over all the photos yet (especially Paul's voluminous posts), so I'm kind of doing a bird-stone thing here.

Both the Penobscot Bay and Kennebec River / Boothbay Harbor cruises were done specially for us. The Kennebec cruise has been offered in two "sub sets" of what we did.
