Bill moves over to southern Wisconsin for his next midwestern stop this weekend. Saturday, August 11th 1 to 3 PM Milaeger's 4838 Douglas Avenue Racine, WI 53402 414-639-2040 800-669-2040 This will be your chance to get the event piece, Yerba Buena . Be sure to call ahead to reserve yours. I would venture a guess you will find KeeperJJ, the Brady’s and many more from the Harbour Lights Collectors Club Great Lakes District at this event! And a picnic and lighthouse climb afterward! What a wonderful day this will be. Who else will be in attendance? Please sign in and please share a report with us. Suzanne,
I am sharing the information in this post so that those who have not realized there may be a hot link in a post will now know how to tell there is one.
When I list an event where the dealer has a web page, I include it as a link in my posting. If you pass your mouse cursor over the name "Milaeger's" in the listing, you will see your pointer change to the pointing finger icon, indicating a link. In this case, it is to the Milaeger's event page information. One give-away that a word is actually a link (in these forums) is usually seeing it underlined. I don't seperately link to maps on a page, unless I feel that is the most useful part of a dealer's page (and, in some cases, the map is the most useful part of the page). I figure that once I have directed folks to somewhere on the dealer's web page, that the surfer can find his way to the main page or whatever.
I hope the weather turns a little cooler for your picnic. I know that you all will have a great time.
Dave

I mainly replied to your post because you asked for people to "sign in" and I noticed the phone number was different than the one I called and Milaegers posted on their web page. I posted the web site to reference the phone number.
I am a computer programmer and I do know what links look like.

I'll be there unless more "stuff" hits the fan..... Suzanne, you'll have to show me how to do a link to the forums. I have something from the CA coast that I would like to share with everyone about a new lighthouse. I'll see you Saturday, and you can tell me then. Stay cool everyone!

JJ-
Thanks for the great time. My wife made her first climb, we got to see Bill, and brats. What an absolutely perfect day.
We are very quickly becoming addicted. In fact, my wife wondered outloud on the way home that she would love to go to Baltimore (I had already expressed that love). Next year, sounds like our vacation is set to go.

It was a beautiful day for a picnic at Wind Point! I saw many new lighthouse lovers in attendance. It was great talking to forum friends again! Maybe one of these times, Bill will remember meeting me! Oh well, he happily signed a few more HL pieces for me at Milaegers. He was slightly indignant that Mombo signed my Sister's Island before he did! Being that we were in Racine he questioned me on how I was able to get her signature. I guess it would have helped if I had worn my Connected Collector's badge.

We're back from vacation and just wanted to say that we had a great time at Milaeger's and Wind Point. We planned our vacation so we could spend time at this event. The weather for the first half of our vacation was similar to what we have in St. Louis all summer long -- HOT! We spent 2 days at Cedar Point in Ohio with record setting temperatures- 102 the second day! The next day things cooled down and by the time wa arrived in the Racine area the weather was great! It was a wonderful day by the lake and was one of the highlights of our trip!

Don't feel bad Suzanne. I've also met Bill many times myself. When I took my Dad, also a collector, to the regional on Chicago, Bill said " Hi, nice to see you again" as if they were old buddies. As we walked away,I asked my Dad when he had met Bill, and he said "this is the first time". Anyway, we got a laugh out of it. Bill, always the salesman!
