Here are four more pics from the LI Regional. Remember, don't volunteer to be the spokesperson for the group! Bob Scroope is in awe over the spokesperson for his group. Carolyn volunteered! Paul looks on waiting to get a pic of this. Shirin stepped up to the plate and volunteered! Another good sport who decided to volunteer! (continued in the next reply!

And the fun continues with four more pics! Kim introduces another entry into the living lighthouse contest! Lorie, Nancy & John working hard on our volunteer from the Wacko table! Lorie came all the way from Utah with her hubby, John, to attend the Regional. She and John were in first place as the "longest distance traveled" to attend until my buddy Fred came through the door. All the way from San Diego, California to attend. Lorie did leave smiling after winning this beautiful St. Joseph, FL piece with Flag #14! Paul & Sue Brady generously donated the piece for the raffle held by the Hoosier Club. Lorie was the only person who won big at our Wacko Table. Bill presents Nancy with a very special piece of art. The driftwood and etched glass both came from St. George's Reef Light. There's only one of these in the world and Nancy donated $1000 to own it! That's about it for the candid shots from the East Coast where the day started foggy but sure looks pretty now! Bob

Great shots, Bob...
Just a word about the St. George's reef item.
Jim Gullo, president of the Desert Lightkeepers Club arranged to obtain this from the St. George's group with the intention of raising funds for St. George's.
Many will recall that when the lantern room was being airlifted off the lighthouse, the lantern room load dragged onto the beach as the helicopter came over.
The group turned 'lemons into lemonaid' with the neat memento: a piece of glass from the original lantern room etched with an image of the lighthouse and mounted on a piece of driftwood from the beach.
Nice job!

Outstanding photos. Hey Bob, maybe you missed your true calling by not becoming a photographer.

You could retire! But I fully understand why you're not ready yet, and it has nothing to do with photography! Your photos are great! I always enjoy them. You have a wonderful knack of getting great shots. Thanks for sharing them with us. Bert

Thanks for posting the fun pictures Bob. John and I had a great time in NY. It was made even better meeting up with more HL Wackos. We enjoyed visiting with you and Lorna and talking about lighthousing and boats. We didn't even get around to talking about our "vette's". I was glad to get to meet up with Donna Martell (DeDo) after exchanging postcards with her over the years. What a great bunch of people to spend the day with!
