What a way to get a variation. I was attending the St. Augustine Lighthouse Festival today with my wife, son and daughter-in-law. I needed them to carry all the lighthouses I brought to have signed by Bill. What a great day: beautiful weather, temperature in the high 70s to low 80s and not a rain cloud around. After successfully fighting the crowd and getting all my pieces signed and buying my event piece, I returned my pieces to the car without breaking one of them. Little did I know that Bill himself had created a one-of-a-kind variation. I went back to pick up my GOLD event piece and wouldn't you know it, someone else had my winning ticket and they won it. Oh well, I didn't need a GOLD piece anyway because I have something even better then that for the remainder of 2002. I didn't know it yet and I did not find it out until I got home, but my Cape Lookout that I had signed by Bill is now a variation until Jan 1, 2003. Some how Bill signed the bottom of my Cape Lookout "B. Younger 03". It must have been a long day and he must have had one too many Pepsies because he was almost a year in the future on his date of 03. He never ceases to amaze me in what he does and what he writes. There is no way that after 3 months into 2002 he would date a piece in 2003. Any bids on this variation? And what a way to make my 200th post. The perfect ending to a perfect day.

Rich, you have quite a variation, at least until 2003 gets here!(LOL)

Rich, you'd better take a dated photo of it. And you could also print out a copy of this thread to substantiate your story!

I had a "slightly" similar experience.
The Hooper Strait Reunion exclusive piece I received was chipped on the bottom of the roof. Per HL instructions, I sent a piece of the sculpture back to them. The replacement sculpture they sent me was shipped after the first of the year and was signed "B Younger 02". Maybe the only 2001 Reunion piece dated 2002?
