Bill is headed east to visit some lucky folks in Virginia and Maryland. There will three signings in the general Baltimore – Washington area and one down in Tidewater. Bill starts off northwest of Baltimore on Friday evening - Friday, July 19 6:30 PM to 8:30 PMRuss Country Garden 4211 Ridge Road Westminster MD 21157 410-875-2385 800-371-2385 Next, Bill moves to the south side of DC, down I-95 to Occoquan. Millers Lighthouse is a great shop, one that I have been able to visit a couple times in the past. Occoquan is also a neat shopping community, so bring a big wallet. Saturday, July 20 1 PM to 3 PM Miller’s Lighthouse 313 Mill Street Occoquan VA 22125 703-491-5983 Bill moves back to the Baltimore area, just down the road from Fort Meade, for his next stop. (Ever wonder who schedules these trips? Must be flying into and out of BWI). Saturday, July 20 6 PM to 8 PMHands Of Time 8600 Foundry Street Savage MD 20763 410-880-4760 For the last stop on this trip, Bill heads down to the Tidewater area. Sunday, July 21 2 PM to 4 PMSandollar Shop 4576 Pembroke Mall Virginia Beach VA 23462 757-497-3579 Come and visit with Bill. Remember that this year there will be one special version of the event piece (the Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse ) given away to a person at each of the signing events. You have to be present to win, and you have to buy an LE or event piece from that store to qualify for the drawing. Who all will be able to make these events? We have several members up in this area – Hal, Larry, Bryan? There are some Tidewater members also – Moby and others. Please sign in if you will be at one of these events. Don’t forget your official 2002 Wacko Name Badge and camera, and be sure to post a report after the event. Dave [This message has been edited by Dave H (edited 07-16-2002).]

Wow this is great, I will be at Va Beach this weekend. Will try to see him there. Hey Patty (Kaiz), if you read this, should I wear my club shirt?

I'll be at Russ Country Garden on Friday and Miller's Lighthouse (my dealer) and Hands of Time on Saturday.
I'll second Dave's opinion on Occoquan. It is a little town right on the river with several good places to eat as well as several neat shops. You can't miss Miller's Lighthouse--its the one with the lighthouse at the entrance way to the shop.

Sheryl -- of course you should be wearing your club shirt! That way when you see Bill, remind him that he will be on his way up to see us in a couple of weeks.
Have a great trip!
Patty

Okay, so we didn't make it to the Russ Country Garden event tonight. After it took me an hour and 40 minutes to drive 30 miles home from work (on I-95!) in a driving rain and lightning, I was tired and grouchy. Yahoo Maps showed me I had an hour and half drive (in normal traffic) to Russ', but with the traffic I had been in and on a Friday night, I never would have made it to see Bill.
We're going to try to do Hands of Time at Savage Mill tomorrow night instead.
Hopefully, Bryan and/or others made it to Russ' and will report back.

Just got back from the event this evening. It was a pretty good showing by HL Collectors in the area. Didn't see either Larry or Hal at the event. Guess the rain or traffic sared them both away. I didn't win anything. The lady that won the gold won two or three other door prizes as well (talk about luck). Russ Country Garden and Gifts They had a pretty nice selection of harbour lights to choose from. Bill was busy all night signing pieces

We just got back from the Hands of Time event. This was our first time meeting Bill. What a great guy. Glad we met him. Very nice store as well. I think I have found my dealer. Ran in to Bryan again, and met Hal Dean and Ken Reese as well: Here they are, waiting to not win the drawing for the Gold Mark Twain, again. My oldest daughter, Kris, got her Concord Point Little Light signed by Bill: When the first person drawn for the Gold piece wasn't there, Bill had my youngest daughter, Amanda, dig for Gold. The first ticket out didn't have dad's name on it. Again, someone else not in attendance. Finally the third time was the charm: Not the charm for dad, but the charm for Gold. Jerry Siatkowsi, President of the Beacons of the Bay Collectors Club, went home a happy man. He was in line in front of me. I handed him his entry tickets...I was "this close". That's my Mrs. and two little girls over Jerry's right shoulder (the left side of the picture). Sorry about the grainy pictures. I forgot to turn the flash on on the digital. Aren't dealer events fun???!!!!
Great way to see old/new collector friends!
Bill is always a charming host.
And it looks to me like the addition of the Gold piece for dealer drawings has been helpful and raised the level of excitement a few notches.
Can't wait until Bill comes to Arizona!

The first event of the day on Saturday was held at Miller's Lighthouse in Occoquan, Virginia. You had to walk under and through the lighthouse to get into the store Bill had a steady crowd throughout the signing The Second event was at Hands of Time in Savage, MD Bill had a great crowd all night

Thank you for the reports and pics, Larry & Bryan. Even tho you didn't go home with the gold, sounds as if you had a good time.
Hopefully one of our connected collectors made the Sanddollar event and will post a report.

Well I got to the signing at Va Beach. It was my first. I was surprised to see how many lighthouses that one person could bring to have Bill sign them. I thought he would only sign something you bought there, anyway since I was on vacation, I only brought my Bill beanbag guy. So Bill signed his head. I thought that was cute. I really enjoyed it. I talked with one collector that is only a spectator here at the forum. I encouraged him to not hesitate to join in. Hope you do Sheryl
