OK guys.I am sittting here at work and my group of direct reports just left after giving me a $100 gift certificate at the store I buy my HL at, and I am thrilled to death. What a great group. Here is where you come in - what HL should I get. I would enjoy hearing your thoughts.
Merry Christmas!
George

Well George!

Not knowing which Harbour Lights proudly sit in your collection it would be a little tough to make a selection for you.

However, if that $100.00 gift certificate were in my possesion it would have to narrow it down between Gay Head, Mass. or Dunkirk, N.Y..

Make sure you let us all know which one you come home with.

Do you have East Quoddy yet, George? Or Sea Girt? Or South Bass?

Obviously, if you didn't get the East Quoddy Christmas piece, that's the one you should buy!! I think Santa is bringing that one for me (I don't have such thoughtful co-workers).

That's a tough question, but I would go with either Montauk Point, or Beavertail if you didn't already have them.

Oh save it for the American Shoal piece. I went to my local dealer today to be put on the waiting list. Looks like a great piece for any collection. Amber

I would get East Quoddy if you don't already have it. If you do, then I would wait to see how American Shoals looks.

Sorry - no help at all here. I'll just agree with Joanne, and I'm not even married to her.

If you aren't yet a member of the Collector's Society (or are up for renewal), use the money to get a three year membership...the society "gift" pieces and special society-only pieces make the money well spent...plus you get the quarterly newsletter. Maybe the store will allow you to transfer the value of the certificate for this purpose since you are most likely to order the society pieces through them.

I'd have to agree with Joanne, if you have East Quoddy then save it for American Shoal.

Perhaps Santa is bringing you the East Quoddy..so wait until after he comes to your town on Christmas Eve. If he doesn't deliver the goods, go out and buy that piece. Of course, if he does deliver the goods, save your gift certificate and buy an American Shoal in January.

I'll have to agree with the others. American Shoal looks like the next "must have".

If you have to work through that dealer, it semms you only have 2 choices. Buy an item in stock from them, or put the $100 towards a HL new issue. A great and thoughtful gift!

If you don't have East Quoddy, definitely buy it while you can. If you have to choose between Gayhead and Dunkirk, but Gayhead. That's my unbiased Massachusetts opinion...lol!

Whatever you buy, might as well wait 'till after the 1st of the year so you have a start on the 2000 Register & Win contest (and to be sure the world is still here) . Might end up with the same prize Mombo got- picking a lighthouse for HL to do!

Thanks Everyone!
I have East Quoddy. I think Santa is bring me Seven Foot Knoll and Hillsboro. I have Gay Head, one of my favorites. Three years of the Society sounds neat. American Shoals does look neat, but waiting - yuk - Jan. 1st to be able to enter the contest is hard to pass up.
Thanks for your thoughts, I enjoyed reading them. I will let you know what I finally decide. Things have been crazy at work so if I don't get a chance to post before Christmas, everyone have the best holidays ever.
I am off next week, so I have a week to play with the kids toys - yahoo!
Take care,
George

I have the answer for your dilemma. Just send the gift certificate to me and I will buy a Harbour Light. I will let you know which one it is and how much it can be enjoyed. I will even send you a picture of how it is displayed. (LOL)
All in fun, I'm sure that you will spend it well. But seriously, if you don't have Hudson-Athens, you should buy it cause it is really a nicely done piece.

Gay Head, East Quoddy, the snowman is cute - Both nice but Hudson-Athens is the one. If you have that, I would go with La Coruna. A huge piece with interesting detail, a good price and limited numbers. See Ya!

Happy New Year!
Well Santa brought to me Hillsboro and Kilauea. So with my gift certificate I purchased Seven Foot Knoll. Hope I made a good pick. It has the long mast, and I really like it. Thanks for your help!
