Wishing everybody has a great time on Dave's NY lighthousing trip!

I'm so close, yet so far away.

Weather should be great except for a possible thunder storm.

Bob,

You may not have seen the lightships but I bet you didn't have to walk on board using one of the doors taken off the entrance to the stairs to the upper deck. laugh

Yeah, but we had to pay $3 for a 16.9oz Poland Spring...not sure which was worse.

Had a GREAT time yesterday. Got all my photos together (all 1020 of them), and I've got to pull the good ones and upload them tomorrow. Some nice shots.

Dennis,
I heard about that episode...they haven't made much progress either. Too bad...they have a gold mine on their hands if they'd run it right.

Caught up on some good times with the Wackos on their arrivals on Friday. The Saturday cruise was a delightful day with good friends and sunny weather. Seemed like the sun popped out brilliantly at each Lighthouse stop. Saturday night was a pizza party at Fire Island and everyone had a chance to climb the LH. Sunday they were out to Montauk, Cedar Island, and back to Huntington Harbor for a bbq at the light. The adventure between Cedar Island and Huntington with the Hampton traffic caused the bus to arrive 2 hours late but TS Barry arrived late too, allowing the crew to have about two hours at the LH and about 1/2 got to see Eatons Neck from the water. Today they're schedule for an East End Cruise from Greenport between remnants of Barry.

Bob,

Glad it mostly has gone well. Wish we could have been there- unfortunately Esther and I had already commited to the NELL Meeting this coming weekend in Maine- with a few extra days in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine tacked on as well.

We don't feel too bad since we've been to the NYC / LI lights already but it's always better with other like mionded Wackos.

I'm putting together a little log page for my future website, while everything's still fresh in my mind. Hopefully, I'll have it up in a day or two, with extra photos to follow when I renew my Flickr account.

Anyone want to ask how it was out on the sound yesterday? (And this was after lunch ... when the water calmed ...)

Hey Bob...did Julia enjoy her first boating and "lighthousing" experience? I see you're training her young to be a lighthouse enthusiast. laugh

Actually it's a hooded sweatshirt with 'New York' on the front and 'NY' on the hood. I got you really looking for detail now Bob! wink

Dave, thanks for another wonderful trip and the
photography lesson.
And Bob Scroupe thanks for your contribution to the trip and the help with my camera.
I have a picture just like Grover's and I love it!
Even with the tail-end of Barry the cruise was
really great! Can't wait to go lighthousing again! I think I have the "disease" bad. vhappy applaud
