I'm hoping you all can send out some positive thoughts tomorrow for my Mother.

She had her Cardiac Catherization today and they decided to admit her to the hospital immediately and perform a combination Double Bypass and Aortic Valve Replacement surgery tomorrow.

The doctors are very upbeat about her chances but positive thoughts never hurt.

It's somewhat strange being able to explain to your Mother what to expect in such a surgery and doing it from the perspective of someone who has been through it themselves.

She has a very positive outlook on the whole thing- Que Sera, Sera Whatever Will Be.

Hopefully it will be well.

They are still not hopeful but at least she has stabilzed a bit.

I want to thank you all for your kind words and thought and prayers over the past few days.

I have to report that my Mother passed away earlier today.

She lived a good long life (she was 87) got to see some Great-Grandchildren and lived her life the way she wanted to.

She was a retired nurse who up until about a year ago used to still volunteer with an organization in Florida where she lived most of the year. She used to say she drove those old people to their Doctor's appointments and other type things. In many case those people were years younger than her- but not in her mind.

She went into the surgery with full knowledge of the possibillities and with full knowledge that if she didn't have the surgery she would never feel better than she did yesterday.

God has already welcomed her to a better life. May God grant you and others she loved and who loved her peace in this time of mourning.

I talked to my daughter , Beth, who is currently in south korea and told her that if she wanted to come home for the funeral and could get the time off from work to do it and not to worry about the plane ticket. She will be arriving tomorrow afternoon. this will make it easier on Esther and my sister to have Beth here.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom, she sounded like a really neat lady. And of coarse being a nurse myself understand her desire to continue to serve others even when she was retired from the profession. May God sustain you and your family during this time of sadness. What a blessing to have had your mom with you for 87 yrs.
