I want to hear from all the Dads out there! Did you get lighthouse items for Father's Day this year? If not let us know anyway!

I got Race Rock and Point Iroquois! Since she has not idea which ones I need, I got to pick 2 that were missing from my collection!

Life is GOOD!!!

Nothing directly Lighthouse related.

I talked my wife into buying 2 tickets for a Poco concert (think buffalo springfield, Loggins & Messina).

Then after she agreed I told her how much they cost. She still said yes.

The connection is that the venue for the show is literally a stone's throw from the Sea Girt Lighthouse so I can do a drive by on the way to or after the show.

You know your getting old when you celebrate Father's Day at your house instead of your Dad's. I had a great day - starting with a baseball game in the morning. My wife got me new spikes, and spaghetti w/ the kids. I got to watch Tiger win, and if Wells didn't hang those two curve balls in the eighth, it would have been a perfect day.

I got three shirts and a promise of a lighthouse from my wife. A promised lighthouse from each of my daughters. The promise comes because they haven't arrived yet.

They all wanted to get me something right away but I held out for lighthouses.

My granddaughter age 4 1/2 got me a lighthouse clock (Cape Hatteras)for my computer desk. I'll try to post a picture. Not to bad considering its not a Harbour Lights!

Doc,

It's not retro music- Poco has a disc coming out shortly. as soon as they find a label.

I think Linda is semireired. Her last album , I think, was that great one with Emmylou Harris. She's home raising her kids most of the time.

She lives in the part of Arizona that used to be Mexico.

She's great live. saw her a few times a few years ago. I've been listening to her since the Stone Poneys.

Nothing lighthouse-like.

A nice Hawaiian print shirt and a comfortable pair of walking shorts!

Happy Dad's Day to all the fathers out there!

Favorite son gave me a really nice Nautica Golf Shirt. My other favorite son gave me $20 worth of scratch tickets (unfortunately, they were all losers) and is taking my bride and myself out to dinner.

I gave my Father a pair of walking shoes and took him and Mom out to dinner. I also bought him some scratch tickets and he won $200! Now that was a miracle with the lottery in this state.

Ryan took me out for lunch but advised me at the restaurant that he only had 3 bucks. What a dirty trick!!! Becky worked all day (as usual) and then that night I had to cook my own supper.

So, when's fathers day??

I guess I was pretty lucky. Light house related I got: Race Rock, Rock of Ages and the '02 event piece. Tool related (a must Father's day category for every guy): a 40 piece drill set and a portable mitre box stand. It was a great day and would have been even if I didn't get anything because I was with my family.

I was the fortunate receprient of a beautiful wooden model of the USCG Cutter Eagle. It's the same wooden model that Lighthouse Depot carries. Only problem is that it won't fit under a glass case like the Anchor Bays have. This really meant something to me as the last 7 years that I spent in the Coast Guard I was responsible for all the electronics on the Eagle while stationed in Washington DC at CG Headquarters. I plan on displaying it in my den along with a plaque made for me from the original teak decking removed from the Eagle and presented to me as part of my retirement gift from my boss at CG Headquarters. I'm in "HOG HEAVEN" with this model.

Digger, wasn't that enough to buy your Happy Meal? Besides, you got to keep the prize.

I had a Harbour Lights Fathers Day. I got LLOM's from my two youngest. East Brothers Island and Cape Lookout. My oldest got me a Boca Grande ornament. My wife renewed my collector society membership. I got an e-mail yesterday that society gift will be here tomorrow.

Digger, I think you should have given Ryan $20 and then he could have gotten you a real nice lunch! (LOL) But, I also agree with Dave that the prize in the happy meal would have memories for years to come!

'Walking shorts(JC)...walking shoes(BM)...Happy Meal(Dig)'
- sounds like part of a George Carlin monologue!
Digger didn't you find Becky's 'eggs'?

JChidester your wife has good taste!
"A nice Hawaiian print shirt and a comfortable pair of walking shorts!"
Thats what I gave my husband for Father's Day.

The kids seem to have forgotten! My two didn't even call. His son however did, as always 3 calls ayear: Chistmas, Joe's birthday and Father's Day.

I got to spend a relaxing day with my wife and 175,000 other screaming fans watching NASCAR in Michigan. Bought myself a new Tony Stewart hat and shirt and a shirt for Diane. The kids got me a nice shirt and card.

I always got a kick out of getting my Dad presents that he would remark he could always use!
A couple that come to mind quickly were
- Case of Michelob on ice in a cooler!
- A bottle of Canadian Club
Others:
- A fitted Yankee hat
- A 56 Chevy Bel Air model car in the exact color he had - salmon/grey!
- A model of the PBY plane he flew on rescue missions in the Pacific in WWII.

Bob (Scroope),

If you're getting old, I'm w-a-a-a-y beyond old. I celebrated Fathers' Day at my SON'S HOUSE! He and his bride moved in two weeks ago; it's the first we've seen it.

His mom and I were treated to a Toledo Mudhens game (perfect seats - about the eighth row, behind home plate). They won and moved back into first place. Afterward, dinner at a really nice local restaraunt. Also, earlier that morning, my daughter-in-law wished me (and her Dad) happy Fathers' Day during her weather forecast / zoo report on 13ABC in Toledo.

One of the best Fathers' Days I've ever had. Getting older has its good points!

Daughter number two arrived this week with a baseball tie and a Cape Cod summer league t-shirt. That Toledo Mud Hens game must have been cool, Bruce. Great Seats! Got to play two more baseball games this weekend, and had a turn-back-the-clock hitting performance. Best part is the adrenilin must still be flowing because the regular Monday pains have not set in YET!

Bah, humbug. I guess my years of aggravating my two now adult sons (I did things like tell them in front of their high school friends that I really was their father, cut-off the hot water while they were showering, short sheet their beds, etc) 'paid off'. They met me at a newer strip mall on the prior Friday PM and #1 son & wife bought my dinner at 'Maui Taco', a new 'experience'. He is a commercial pilot (They are 'well-off'.)... said he hadn't had a chance to get me anything (Yeah, they keep changing 'Father's Day'...). #2's wife handed me a familiar box - two recycled Christmas presents - long sleeved shirts. He (#2) is a well-off structural engineer - and papa to my two grandmonsters. But - it isn't the goodies - it's the thought. Hmmm, I 'thought' I'd get more 'goodies'! My sons don't get together much anymore (They live 180 mi apart), so it was good just to see them together. They spent Sunday with their father-in-laws, properly influenced by their spouses. They told me I was a good father, as I grabbed my wallet, and that they appreciated my expensive 'taste' in food... thus the strip-mall burrito in a basket! Ah, but it was memorable!

It was a good day!

John
