Rich is going to undergo a procedure on Monday that hopefully will check and fix, if necessary, blockages in his arteries.
Please keep Rich in your thoughts and prayers -- especially on Monday.

I was trying to think of something we, as your friends, could do to help ease any concerns you may have. So, I decided to call a meeting of the Chief's Mess. Sean, Torch and I, being good Chiefs and all, decided that we would make your doctor an Honorary Chief. It is our belief that this generous act on our part should give you the warm, secure feeling that you are in good hands.

Gee thanks Dave. I feel like Ronald Reagan after he was shot and asked the surgeon if he was a Republican or a Democrat. Thanks to everyone else as well. John, you were supposed to wait and let me say something on Sunday night so I could read all these nice things when I got home on Tuesday or Wednesday. Now Dave's already typing blarney on the internet. Seriously, my only concern was how bad things went in June when they started this process. Hopefully, there will be none of that this time and I'll be at the next chat on Thursday night (Knock on wood). Thank you all for your positive thoughts. Okay. It's now the day before. The cardiologist's nurse called last night and we're going to do things differently than last time. They used something called a "collagen plug" to reclose the entry site in the femoral artery last time. This time they're going to allow it to close naturally. Takes a little longer, but with my diabetes, better to prevent an infection. They still think it will only require an overnight stay, so ... By Tuesday night I should be home to let you know everything went fantastic (that "swish" sound you heard was my fingers crossing). So I'll C U all then.  Rich ------------------

I'M HOME! Went without a hitch and things are looking good. Of course it was 4 days after the procedure that problems developed last time, but they took all kinds of steps to insure there would be no problems this time. Can't go back to work for a week, but feeling pretty positive this time. Thanks to all of you for your positive thoughts, prayers, and support. Rich ------------------

Rich, the right combination of prayers and beers worked. Must admit I leaned a bit towards the beers. Well with all the heat and humidity and praying I got a bit parched....  Hope things continue to go well.
