Our 'sun' Chris celebrates his 17th birthday Monday. The 27th of May when he was born in 1985 was also Memorial Day.
He's looking forward to a summer of mostly leisure -- although Mom & Dad have been dropping hints about finding a first job.
And he's been dropping hints about wanting to learn to drive.

Happy 17th Birthday Chris!!! I'm sure your mom & dad will let you take driving lessons. How else would you get back and forth to the job they want you to get? It's not so bad John. Stephen finally decided he better learn how to drive when he realized that all his friends that drive are graduating and going off to college. Cheryl

Thanks everyone for your greetings. Chris got a desktop CD/tape player from the folks and cash from all the other relatives.
He went to take the written test for his permit driving license today. Couldn't miss more than 6 - he missed 10. But it didn't phase him. He wants to go back Monday morning and do it again. He doesn't do well on written tests but each weekday morning they offer it as a spoken test.
