Just received a call from Bill...after staying a night in the hospital, he has just entered Mariner Health Care, Palmetto, FL. He is thinking he will be there until the end of the month and hoping that this facility will do the best to get him back to his normal self. He really appreciates the calls and cards. 941-721-4279

I will make a copy of your well wishes on the forum and send it to him since he is not able to use his computer at this time. He is still planning to come to the reunion, but realizes he can't drive, as planned.

August 10th
Many of you have noticed the absence of Bill O'Brien, OSeaBee, from the forum. Concerned, because he didn't respond to a personal email, I called and left a message on his machine. Tonight I called again, since I had not heard from him, and left another message.

A few minutes ago, his daughter called to update me on Bill's health. Last Thursday night he had both a small heart attack and a stroke which sent him to the hospital until Wed. and then on to a rehab facility.

Bill talked to me for a few minutes and conveyed that he felt very uncomfortable at the facility and called his daughter to bring him home tonight since he felt he could not spend another night there. He is looking forward to locating a more comfortable facility where he will be able to regain the use of his left arm and leg.

I'm sure that many of you will want to correspond with Bill. His daughter will be gathering the mail each day and is aware of her Dad's HL friends. She will also call me with updates on his progress.

Bill asked me to tell all of you that he will not be on the forum anytime soon and that he misses us all. I ask for your prayers for his return to good health.

Derith, thank you so much for checking on Bill. I too was concerned since we had not heard from him. Our prayers will be with him until we see him posting here again. Sure do miss him...You get better Bill so we can meet you in person. Take care and God speed.

Thanks for the update, Derith. I gave Bill a call this afternoon. We talked for about 15 minutes. I think he's a bit lonely and worried. They hope to move him to a different Rehab place Monday. He said the other one had no AC and not much in the way of creature comforts.

He mentioned he got Post Cards from Bob McKeon and Bob Scroope.

He sure is anxious to be well enough to meet us all at the Reunion. Keep Bill in your prayers.

Please hurry and get well. I know that rehab can be very taxing and difficult, but the harder it is in the beginning, the better the recovery. You are missed on the forum. My thoughts and well wishes are with you.
