Paul Brady's mom, Helen Brady, passed away the morning of Saturday, November 26 at her home in Franklin IN, after a short illness. She was 90 years of age.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30 at Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin IN. She will be buried outside of Richmond, IN within a few miles of her birthplace and next to, Mac, her husband of over 50 years who passed away 12 years ago.

She was blessed by a long life, a loving family, a strong faith, and was active in her Church activities until the end. Her family, including Paul, Sue, Chad, Barb, and great-grandaughter Chloe shared Thanksgiving dinner with her Thursday evening.

As long-time Collector Forum members will know, Paul often posted pictures of flowers to let his mom know he was thinking of her on his travels.

Perhaps if you are photographically-inclined, you can post a picture of a flower in this thread in remembrance of Paul's mom.

Please keep Paul, Sue, Chad, Barb, Chloe and the Brady family in your prayers.

Sorry to hear about your Mom, Paul. We've shared many of your beautiful floral images.

All the names I know from nurse:
Gardener's garters, Shepherd's purse,
Bachelor's buttons, Lady's smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.

Fairy places, fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames--
These must all be fairy names!

Tiny woods below whose boughs
Shady fairies weave a house;
Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme,
Where the braver fairies climb!

Fair are grown-up people's trees,
But the fairest woods are these;
Where, if I were not so tall,
I should live for good and all.

First things first. First I'd like to thank to John for the idea of sending the flower images, it's been very special to the family (and Mom, I am sure). Secondly thanks for all your thoughts and prayers; they were warmly received..

The Berry's (Hoosier Lighthousing Club members from nearby Plainfield) came to the visitation last night and represented 'to me', those who couldn't come because of the distance and time.. Dave H came to Mom's funeral service today, which was much appreciated. I felt like Dave represented all of our lighthouse friends as well as himself personally and his family.

Chloe meeting Santa for the first time.. Chloe was the true flower of her Great Grandma Helen's eyes..

A little late...but my deepest consolations to the entire Brady clan, from Paul to Chloe.

Here's a flower image I took in August 2003 at Goat Island Light. I was trying to emulate Paul's flower style, not knowing the backstory. It's not as good as my more recent photos (my talent having improved), but I think that it has the most meaning for this situation.
