WE have just heard that Southern CA is on fire again.
Ramona has been evacuated and is threatened by the fires.

Please pray for these people!

Stan's daughter and her whole family fled the fire at the last minute and are staying with friends. But they are not sure if they can stay there, as the fire is heading for them again. They had to run with just the clothes they stood up in and had to turn the horses loose to fend for themselves.

They all need your prayers!

As do the fire fighters who - again - are doing such a fantastic job!

Sounds like the ultimate horror. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of them and hope things work out for the best. I just can't imagine what must be going through their minds in times like these.

A very scary thing to go through. Your home is suppose to be your safe refuge. To be driven from it is a horror!

I pray they get some rain to help fight the fires asap.

There are a few areas of the country that really needs rain badly!!!

The latest is, that they may have to run again. The friend who took them in, is now under notice of evacuation.
We all hope that doesn't happen!

Our son and daughter in law came home today from a vacation in San Diego and Santa Ana area. They said that this morning they could smell the smoke when they left their hotel room in Santa Ana. As they were waiting on the runway, their plane had to wait because the radar went out in the tower. This put them a half an hour behind when they were finally cleared to take off.

The people in California need our prayers during this very dangerous time.

Its too bad they can't take some of the major rain they are having in the New Orleans area and redirect it to California. We will certainly keep Stan's daughter and family in our prayers, as well as all the other folks being evacuated or are otherwise affected by all the fires.

It seems to have happened ... we have lost touch. Now all we can do is pray and wait.

We pray for Sue and her Family, but also for all the other people across CA and especially for the emergency services folks who seem to be doing such a GREAT job!

I called the Youngers yesterday to check on them.. Becky (former HL employee) answered their phone while house sitting for them and assured me that Nancy and Bill were out of harm's way since they are currently in China.. She also assured me that she and their home were safe as the winds were blowing the fire away from their home.. Becky also mentioned that her kids has managed to get out of harm's way..

Good to know that Paul! And good to know they are in China ... well away from the troubles.

We just re-established contact and our family is also still save! Phew! But keep the prayers coming Please! Thank You!

The guys are still OK - if a bit stir crazy - 7 people and 8 dogs in a small house is not good - but better than the alternative.

They are hoping to be able to take food and water to the horses today. But they are not sure. They can't return permanently until there is a reliable water supply and that seem way off.

Hope and pray some more !!

Who said prayers don't work!
They are home again ... well sort of. The water is not working right (leaks everywhere), the barn has burnt down (so the feed, saddles etc. is gone), the house inside is covered in soot.
But the cat is alive and so are the fish ...all four horses somehow managed to avoid the firs ... even the canary survived (sadly not the finches)...

The hard work is now beginning. And where do they start?

It WAS a miracle for Sue and her family! The flames stopped 15 feet from the house!

But this does not mean we can do without the prayers now. When the headlines slow down, there are still thousands of people trying to rebuild their lives. Not easy when you lost so much and you insurance does not pay the first $5000, so you now got to find that. From where????

So please keep praying for all the victims!

Margret, even with the loss of their barn there is great news in the fire not taking the house. Lots of cleanup and recovery, but at least they have a house to return to. Our prayers will remain with them and all the others during the recovery.

It is really sad that some of the fires were caused by arson. Too bad we don't burn people at the stake anymore - that would be a fitting punishment for the culprits.
