My daughter-in-law, Debbie, had been diagnosed with breast cancer last week and was operated on today(Monday). She had a lump and 2 lymph nodes removed today. They are going to know tomorrow if she needs additional surgery to have more lymph nodes removed. If she needs additional surgery it will be done next week. She has had yearly mammograms done and this was not caught by the lab doing the yearly mammograms. This year she could not get her normal November appointment and went to another lab to have the mammogram done. They caught the lump on the film. The doctor says that the lump has been there for at least 4 years.

Please keep her in your prayers and I will keep you informed as to what happens.

Rich,

Please tell Debbie that my thoughts and prayers are for her and her family. Of course, also with you and yours.

Bring the first lab to court.

Rich, I'm sorry to hear about Debbie's health issues. My sister went through a breast cancer bout right after she moved to Florida about five years ago. I'm very pleased to say after her surgery and radiation treatments she totally eliminated that problem.

Our prayers and thoughts will be with you and Debbie. The miracles of modern medicine will surely see her through this setback.

Rich, I will keep Debbie and both families in my prayers. If it was difficult to detect, than hopefully it was small and confined. I used to work with cancer patients and know many breast cancer patients who were able to overcome. Stay positive!

Debbie's test results came back and it is good news. There was no evidence of cancer in the lynph nodes so the doctor has confirmed that they caught it in time and the only cancer was in the lump itself. There is also no cancer around where the lump was. She will undergo moderate chemo and radiation as a extra preventative with a 99% chance that the cancer will not reappear. Thank you for your prayers and this will be a wonderful Thanksgiving thanks to the Lord's blessing.

Like they seem to say, catching it early is the key. My grandmother is 93 and just finished her treatments for breast cancer. They caught it early so is was small. We'll keep your family in our prayers Rich.

Wonderful news, Rich. I'm really happy for all of you. Changing labs may not have been the critical issue here; it's likely that the problem may have just arrived at the detectable stage and, thus, would have been caught by either lab. Mike, I hope your grandmother will continue to do well.
