It is kind of funny as I am standing out in the middle of a busy 6 lane roadway, collecting donations for our "Fill the Boot" drive for MDA, and telling motorists to have a safe weekend. There is nothing like standing between lanes of traffic with it moving by at 40 MPH...

Seriously though, I echo John's thoughts and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend.

40 mph, Todd? You should try staying alive standing in traffic at 60-70 mph. Our highways are getting worse all the time. No one is slowing down even for the construction zones. We've had eight people killed on Rte 495 within a 25 mile stretch in the last five weeks. Part of this stretch is a construction zone.

The key to staying alive on our interstate highways:

1. Don't exceed the posted limit and slow down in inclement weather.

2. Don't ever drive impaired by alcohol or drugs (legal or illegal).

3. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!!!
