Let me be the first to wish all the members of the Harbour Lights Family of Friends a very "Happy Thanksgiving"! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow and Christmas is just a little over a month away. Where has 2001 gone? Bob

Take care, especially if on the road. Expect delays and plan for them.

Posted on behalf of our Friend Maureen Atwell Thanksgiving is always a time for me to reflect on all that I am thankful for. I would like to let everyone know just how thankful and how much I enjoy your friendship, kindness and zest for having a great time.
This year I was fortunate enough to finally meet, face to face, quite a few people, especially at the HL Reunion. Was that a blast or what?! So many huggable people I thought I was just going to burst with joy. I'm afraid to start making a list of names because I just know I'll forget one or two. But please know that I am forever thankful to be able to share a little time, a meal, or a hug or two with all of you.
Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Maureen

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all the new friends that I have met on the Collector Forums. You have really made me feel "connected." I am thankful for you all. Have a great day with your family and/or friends. We all have so much to be thankful for. We will be celebrating with my 99 year- old mother-in-law. She is in good health and we are lucky to have her with us this day. JoanieO

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. Mom did a great job cooking the past few days. Sure made the drive to Georgia well worth it! Of course it was nice to see all my family as well.

We hope everyone had a safe & Happy Thanksgiving!
We are heading to my parents house tomorrow (Saturday) for another round of Turkey after having had a gathering with her family on Thursday.
You can have too much turkey, but never enough time with family.

Friday - first day of left-overs. Wondering just how long we can stretch the remains of the bird...
Squeeker the cat sure is enjoying his share! Turns his nose up at canned cat food as long as he knows there is chicken or turkey in the 'fridge.
So what's your favorite left-over turkey dish? I like turkey-ala-king over rice.

Turkey Noodle Soup
I made some today. We will have it tomorrow with fresh biscuits or cornbread. It must set overnight in the fridge in order for the ingredients flavors to mingle.
We'll be eating around 1:00 PM if anyone wants to stop by and share some with us.

Turkey leftover favorite? My favorite thing to do is send as much of it as I can home with my older relatives. I do enjoy a nice sandwich of sliced white meat, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and some Miracle Whip (or mayo) on toasted white bread. Bob

Larry, Grandkids took me to Harry Potter yesterday. I too enjoyed the movie. I had read the book before going. More in book than in movie; I thought it a good read. Have read second book and will probably get third book for Christmas.
Tonight should be the last of our turkey; turkey and dumplings are for dinner. Darlene

I'm with Bob on the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. They made a nice lunch during my 15 hour drive home yesterday.
And yes, we (my sisters, nephew and I) also saw Harry Potter. It seemed so long with almost half an hour of previews and commercials before the movie even started. I was amazed my nephew sat that still for so long. I've read all 4 of the books already but I'm tempted to go back and read them again.

My favorite thanksgiving leftover is a cold turkey and catsup sandwitch on toasted sourdough bread.
I too saw Harry Potter. It was a very good movie. My wife has a tradition, she goes shopping with my oldest daughter, and her mother. Tthey shop all day Friday and I get to watch the little ones. I usually take them to lunch and then to a movie.(glad its only once a year!) I had my three youngest and my brothers two. We had a great time. My kids have all of the Harry Potter books and can't wait for the next one.

Late to comment on Thanksgiving...but we had a great one. Both our daughters were here as were the grandtwins. The added guest this year were my June to be son-in-law and his parents. We shared the menu items and for the 9 of us we did have a feast.
The leftovers were divided amongst three households(some dumplings made it to Atlanta on Sunday) and we are all enjoying what remains. Ham is my favorite left over and will be around a few more days for lunches. Gotta love those fresh Florida tomatoes to make the sandwiches delicious.
Only down side of the holiday, back to work on Monday. We did find budding dishwashers when the twins helped clean up. Up side is that all are back home safely.
