Harbour Lights will begin a monthly email newsletter next week.

The initial emailing will use a list of collectors for which they have email addresses. Some of these have been collected from Collector Society memberships, others from old registrations at the HarbourLights.com website. (Some of these are no-doubt out of date.)

To be certain you'll receive the email newsletter from the first edition and continue to receive it, please go to this page and sign-up:

If you have separate email addresses, both husband and wife should sign-up. Club leaders, please pass this information on to your members.

At the present time, this form only allows you to sign-up for the newsletter. Probably beginning in May, you'll be able to edit the information you provided such as changing your email address or asking to be dropped from the list.

This is NOT the online Lighthouse Legacy newsletter, but a separate communication from Kim Andrews.

The premier April issue will contain a photo and information on the Limited Edition Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Pierhead light that will be introduced at the Door County Lighthouse Walk.

If you are using a spam filter, please set your system to authorize receipt of email from "harbourlights@harbourlights.com".

Certainly, Daniel... And anyone who wants to receive the email at different email addresses. There will be a 'filtering' to assure that multiple copies are not sent to the SAME email address, but if you access the internet with different email addresses at home and work, and receiving personal emails at work is not verbotten by the employer, go ahead...

Forty-four people signed up in roughly 48 hours, that's a good start. On the other hand, 150 out of 194 visitors didn't sign up. Could it be they just read specific threads and not everything new?

I signed up, despite my last purchase being in the upper 290's. I guess I felt a bit abandoned when they quit sending me the Legacy a year ago... I thought I had another year coming. I have removed - boxed - a good part of my collection. I guess, as most folks, I have entertained getting rid of them (space, etc). Well see what transpires re the e-letter.

It appears to me that the crash last night has resulted in some dropped files necessary to process forms. Sorry for the inconvenience for you and any others who've tried.

Because of the crash of the server Monday, we've been having some problems with searches and forms on the HarbourLights.com website.

It's necessary for me to upload the ENTIRE website again - which can take several HOURS. I'm in the process of doing that now and forms and searches may not work correctly unil perhaps midnight PT.

It appears the email sign up form is working again - if you tried it -- Monday, Tuesday or today, it did not register your sign-up, although it may have appeared as if it did.

If it returned you to the same sign-up page, please try again. You should reach a page that says "Thank You" after pressing SUBMIT.

I got mine this A.M. Interesting...mostly just infor we could have gotten from the HL website I guess.

I observed my first HL news/email this morning. I was pleasantly surprised! It is informative, professional, and very well done. I would say it is a very positive communication and is being released at a time when we were all wondering what direction HL was heading.

With several thousand copies to email, it is necessary to send it out in blocks of under 1,000 at a time.

The list is sorted alphabetical by email address and the balance of the list will be emailed today.
