The good news is ... we are coming to California again ... this time for a wedding!!!!
Stan's daughter Sue is getting married to "Mr. Right" her partner John!
And she wants Daddy to give her away and ... me to do the ceremony and marry them.
I am proud as anything that they want me (Sorry if I sound big headed) and I hope you will keep Sue and John and all of us in your prayers!
Espeacially on the 23rd of September ... the happy day!

Isn't it a shame that we will have to spend some more time in sunny California? Well we thought we'd make it worth it and stay four weeks

If you are going to be in the US for a month, why not try to make it to the Reunion in early October to be held in Portland, Maine.

Or any other get-together for that matter.

If it weren't for the background, I'd venture a guess that John hails from Texas. If that's true, he must be one heck of a guy.

Good looking couple! What an honor to be married by Margret! It's terrific that you and Stan have a chance to visit again.

I wish we could, but we are in California and Maine is a long way away. And our koffers are very streched this year. We travelled too much. California in March, just returned from Germany, going back to California and then back to Germany for Christmas. And on top of that had to repalce the floor in the living room (dry rot had gotten in there)
So we can't afford the trip. It is a great shame! Would have LOVED to have met some of you face to face!

Actually John grew up in San Diego,CA. But he looks the part, doesn't he? And he IS one heck of a guy!!!

By the way, the background is the wall of the little very old country church, where son Ian got married last year.

Congrats to the happy couple. Sue looked radiant in the photo and John looked like he was in love -- and that he just came off a movie set.

John, I am ordained into the German Lutheran Church. But I have not had a parish in over 20 years.

And I am to be deputized to be allowed to perform Sue's wedding in California

And, yes, we noticed John looking like a movie star and "in love" ...

Well they both are and we are looking forward to "the big day" when we can welcome John into the family!

The family is getting larger. Streching half the globe now. (Germany, England, Holland, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia ...) Amazing how "small" the world has become with modern communications.

Well there it is... the wedding was a brilliant, hot, sunny day.

We had Sue and John's yard set up for the wedding and the party afterwards and a good time was had by all.

I am just so thankfull that Sue and John chose me to perform the ceremony!

And I just LOVED my husband in his Western outfit, Stan is the guy with the back to the camera on the right (pic above).
