Just had to celebrate the purchase of a CH2 that was for sale here on the forum a little bit ago with all of you. A very nice gentleman who was selling it, let me know that I was the first bidder. The CH2 now sits in my curio and I just giggle everytime I pass by. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would own one. But, the nicest part of the transaction was finding a lovely gentleman in Minnesota who was the original owner and who took good care of the piece until I bought it.

Over and over again, I find that the nicest part of our population are HL collectors. So, thank you Fred for keeping the CH2 for me all those years.

Derith -Congrats on your CH2. I know exactly how you feel and agree that the people you meet in colleting HL's is really half the fun !!!

I was fortunate to purchase our first 102R Cape Hatteras (revise) from the secondary market way back when. Lightning Rod, with stamp, original box, excellent condition! A great feeling!

Congrats on the CH-2! I purchased mine from a HL Collector that lived here in Massachusetts about 35 miles from me. I was very fortunate to find it at the Marketplace right here at the Collector Forum.

It really pays to visit the forums every day. You just never know when you might come up with a very special deal!

Great news, Derith - I'm glad you're tickled with your Cape Hatteras - its a significant addition. What a treat to add a majority rarity to ones collection!

Hi Derith I congratulations on such a great addition to your collection. It is always a joy to dream of aquiring that special piece and then to be able to see it displayed in your own curio is the icing on the cake. Enjoy!!

Congrats Derith. CH2 is a great piece. We finally got one last year. It takes center stage in one of our LH curios.

Congratulations Derith. I was brilliant enough to buy mine at retail way back when. It was one of the "lucky" periods in my life. I know that I treat mine special, so know how you must feel.

If you get interested Bob. The guy that I'm helping sell his mom's collection still has one. Can't hurt to make him an offer.

I couldn't have hoped for a nicer home for CH2. Obviously, I needed the money, in order to put this piece up for sale, but I was twice rewarded, in dealing with such a nice person, whose enthusiasm for this piece was almost reward enough in itself. Thanks for a very pleasant experience, Derith!

From Michigan to Florida. How did that get past Indiana???? Remember Derith, if it ever gets dirty just send it to John.

Congrats Derith on the CH2.My penny "jar" lets me know it will be a while before I can even think about adding one to our collection.

Fred,You can be assured that the CH2 will be loved and cherished by its new owner.

Hi Derith,
I got my CH2 yesterday, and was thrilled when I opened it. Thanks to you, Rich and Randy for making this happen. I can echo some of you same remarks. It now has a good new home with me.

Generally speaking, what does a CH2 go for these days?

This one went for $501.00 on Ebay this morning...a great bargain I would say. Unfortunately I got "auction sniped" by not 1 but 3 other bidders. frown
