Tonight was my last class and I just have one more test to go! Next Tuesday is my last final exam. Then, Saturday May 13th is graduation day. I will have my computer programming degree! I hope I am not the oldest person getting a degree. My accounting class surprised me with a card tonight! I am really tired of working full time and taking classes at night. I can finally get back to visiting lighthouses, enjoying my HLs, and cross stitching pictures of lighthouses. Yeah! I am ready to celebrate!

Congratulations!
I have an idea- why don't you buy yourself a HL as a reward?? Oops, you probably thought of that one already!
Anyway, congratulations on your accomplishment. I have been out of college for 17 years and have been talking about going back for the last 16 years.....one of these days I will actually do it!
I just purchased a very nice cross stitch book called Seaside Stitches- several of them have LH on them and they all look very easy. Enjoy yourself and congratulations!

Congratulations Suzanne on your upcoming degree!
Have recently started a lighthouse cross stitch. It's 6" x 21" so will probably take me longer to complete than it took you to get your degree!

Suzanne,
Congratulations on your accomplishment! Working full time and going to school makes it even more special. Doesn't matter how old you are when you get the degree, just that you stuck to it and completed! My mother was working on her masters in 1939, and ended up in the Red Cross without finishing her last class. She was determined to go back to school and get that masters. She did, earning it at age 84!

Have a great day and enjoy your return to lighthousing.

Dave

A well-deserved "Congratulations", Suzanne!! Having a full-time job during the day then going to school at night can be a real "drag" a times....but in the long run, its well worth it Good luck and good fortunes!!

Suzanne... I too went back to school and finished my degree (Audio Engineering) while working full time. The summers were particularly hard because the college I graduated from (University of Maryland) had trimesters. Going to school four nights a week and working full time just about killed me. Looking back, I have no regrets, and would do it all over again knowing what I know now. Congratulations... your preserverance will pay off.

Congratulations Suzanne! Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of my graduation from the University of South Florida. I found that hard to believe . My girlfriend is graduating tomorrow from USF and one of her presents is a Lighthouse trip next weekend

Thanks! Buying myself a HL sounds like a great idea! (I could use a good excuse!) I can't wait to enjoy my "free" time. I am lucky in that I already have a programming job. Now, maybe I can get to working on my dream of designing cross stitch pictures of lighthouses. Well, maybe I have some R&R time coming first.

Congratulations Suzanne! That is truly a memorable achievement. I have two daughters graduating from college the same day out here. Alas, I will never get out of college. Well, maybe when I retire from it.

Once again, congratulations! Awesome!

Thanks for the congrats! Who puts out "Seaside Stitches" and which lighthouses are in it? I have several lighthouse pattern books, but I don't think I have that one. When I go lighthousing, I try to buy every lighthouse cross stitch pattern of lighthouses I have been to that I can find. I don't think I will ever have time to make them all! But I will certainly try! Sometimes I just can't decide which one to do first.

Congratulations Suzanne, you should be feeling very proud of your accomplishment. I hope that you enjoy all your well-deserved free time and treat yourself to that lighthouse trip.

Suzanne- Seaside Stitches is published by Jeanette Crews Designs, Inc. They have a toll free number of 1-800-241-1962. You can request a catalog at that number. I purchased my book at Michael's (don't know if you have them in your area) and it retails for $6.00. They are always running a 40% off coupon, so if you have them in your area, you can get this booklet rather reasonably. There are 10 patterns in the book, 3 of which have LH. The most interesting one is stitched on black and is a LH at sunset- even my husband thought it was a unique pattern. Good luck and happy stitching!

Congrats, Suzie! I went 8 years of nights for my Bachelor's Degree. Sometimes it was enjoyable, and other times...not so enjoyable. It is great when it's behind you!
