Happy 4th of July to you to Brent and to everyone else on the forum.
I'm going to Boca Grande Lighthouse on Sunday and I might see Egmont Key if I head to Ft. DeSoto Park on Tuesday.
Hope everyone has a safe weekend.
John

Right, John! Took this one when I was out there March of 1999. Security was tight that day as some bigwig (Italian?) was visiting. It was the day that the U.S. did not acknowledge fault from the incident when a U.S. pilot flew into that gondola, if I remember correctly.

Ah the Fourth of July My Favorite Holiday. Why you ask? Is it backyard barbegues? Fireworks? hot Dogs? Nope. The fact is it's because My Birthday is the First of July and when I was growing up my parties were almost always on the 4th.

Happy Fourth of July to everyone! I will be working that night, so I fully expect for our hospital to be busy. We get fireworks injuries, drunks, MVA (motor vehicle accidents) and the like, all associated with too much holiday celebrating! A couple of years ago, our ER decided to keep track of what time we got our first fireworks-related injury. It just happened that it was to the son of one of our employees! Please eveyone, be safe and use caution, especially with alcohol and fireworks!

Have a safe 4th everyone. I'll be off the highways and on the water. Had lunch off the Mariner's Museum yesterday. Took my Chessie out this morning. Calm as glass. May even venture to the JRB or the idle fleet this afternoon.

I trust everyone will have a wonderful July 4th holiday. When you get the chance while enjoying this special day... whether enjoying a picnic with family or friends, vacationing, (we are going to see "Riverdance" with some friends) etc., take time and reflect upon our symbol of freedom which we call "Old Glory." We are enjoying this particular day, and free to do so because of the visions our founding fathers had for this country. Have a great 4th! Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Hope everyone has a Great and Safe 4th of July. We'll be watching the fireworks from the base of the Arch. There's no better (or hotter) place to be on the 4th.

Happy Birthday America - my flag is flying proudly outside my home.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th. JohnL, watch out for iguanas at Boca Grande. I just saw a news story that Boca Grande is overloaded with iguanas.
Weasel enjoy your birthday celebration.

Happy Fourth of July everyone and a belated birthday wish to you, Weasel. Hope your trip to Boca Grande was a great one, John.
My husband and I did our going and coming to Atlanta to see the kiddos on Friday and Monday when the traffic was light. Altho' we saw about 10 hiway patrol, we saw no accidents. All of you all remember this little ditty:
He who goes forth on the Fourth with a Fifth, May not come forth on the Fifth.
Everybody have a grand time and be safe. Derith
