My good friends Stephani & Marty Wallace have two children. Morgan 3yrs and Nathan 18 months old. Nathan needs another life-saving liver transplant. Last year his mother, Stephi, gave him life for the second time by giving him a piece of her liver. However, the problems for Nathan still continue. They live in Arizona and Stephi takes him to Florida every two weeks for the delicate surgical procedure. They drain bile from his liver to keep it functioning and keep little Nathan breathing. The friends of the Wallace Family are rallying around them by having a silent auction-dinner on Oct. 27, 2000 at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge in Phoenix. Also involved in the fund raiser is the organization called COTA. Children's Organ Transplant Association. Nathan's Dad, Marty is a Phoenix Police Officer and has been working over 70 hours a week to keep up with all the bills they are faced with every day. I spoke to Maureen at HL and they will be donating a lighthouse for the silent auction. I know there are stories like this all over the country so believe me I'm not here to ask for money. Although we would not turn any down. What I think we need as much as money are your prayers to keep Nathan alive. I know first hand how much prayers can help. June 16, 1996, when my husband Terry had a heart transplant, it was not only the great doctors that kept him alive but the prayer circles from all over the country.

He is just the cutest & sweetest little guy you could ever meet. Please keep Nathan and his Family in your prayers and help them through this difficult time.

Ruthie

Here's Nathan:

Ruthie... I too will be praying for the Wallace family, partcularly Nathan. Sometimes it's hard to understand why something like this happens, especially to such a young child.

If you would, and not to draw away from Nathan, please be praying for the McKinney family. Henry McKinney is the station manager of WYFB radio in Gainesville, FL (where I am currently working for the next few days). His wife has been diagnosed with liver and colon cancer. The doctors have given her 6 months. This too is a tragedy as she is young with three children at home. I just couldn't imagine being given the same information by a doctor about my wife as Henry has. Thanks again.

Thank you all so much for you prayers and well wishes to Nathan and his family. I made a copy of the web site and showed it to his family. They were amazed at how thoughtful and caring this group has been. Tim, just so you know my prayers are with the McKinney Family also. It just so hard to accept that these terrible tragedies occur all the time to such good people. The older I get though the more I believe that there must be a better place for us when we leave here, we can only hope.
