Bill and I just returned from a wonderful 3-week lighthouse trip. Part of the trip included a USLHS Tour of Maine. Ken Black and his wife Dottie joined us for dinner one night and we wanted to report that he is really doing well. He has lost a lot of weight and still has a bit of trouble remembering every now and then but he gave us a great tour of his museum which will be closed and moved to a new location. He is a wonderful guy and wanted to thank everyone who sent him cards. Dottie read everyone of them to him as he was recuperating. What a priviledge it was to get to talk to him and see how much love and dedication he has to lighthouses.

Ken, Mr. Lighthouse as he is known, as you know is the founder of the Shore Village Museum and the Honorary Chairman of ALF.

His wife Dot is the Chair of the Friends of Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, a Chapter of ALF.

We honor them both for all that they have done and continue to do to preserve our lighthouses, artifacts and their history!
