Lorna and I were presently surprised when our daughter-in-law, Shannon, gave birth to a nine pound baby girl yesterday afternoon. None of us knew whether our new grandchild would be a boy or girl, but we thought we would be having another boy. Dad (Kevin), Mom (Shannon), and grand-daughter (Colleen) are all doing great! After three grandsons in a row, Lorna and I figured the newest addition would be a boy. Direct quote from Lorna, "Finally I can buy some things pink!!!" Oh happy day! Bob

Congratulations, Grandpa and Grandma! I'm glad Colleen, Mom and Dad are doing well. I agree with Lorna. Pink and lavender are not colors for little boys. (It's been 24 years since I've bought any pink - 9 nephews in a row.)
Congratulations again. When will you post some photos?

Congratulations to all! It's in the grandparents job description to spoil them! (check the fine print!) I am so envious that it's a little girl!!!! With 4 grandsons and not to be able to buy frilly pink things Boring! Enjoy your "princess"! We'll be waiting for pictures-of course!

Congratulations to the proud Grandparents! Shopping for a little girl can be wonderful. Hope she likes dolls. None of my nieces were interested in dolls, and neither was my daughter. They would much rather have stuffed animals, which was sort of okay, but not being able to buy dolls (and I don't mean Barbies or those ugly Bratzs dolls UGH!) Oh well!

Congratulations Bob! It's nice to hear that not all future parents want to know their baby's sex before the birth! BTW, do those baby Yankee outfits come in pink???

Thanks for all the well wishes! Colleen is home with Mom and Dad, and her older brother, Aidan. Lorna and I were over their home last night. Colleen is such a good baby (so far), and hasn't fussed hardly at all. Lorna is anxious to hit the stores tomorrow looking for many cutesy things to buy for the baby. She has waited a long time to buy pink socks with ruffles on them. Bob
