Okay Bob, don't leave us in suspense any longer. What coast does the actual light sit on? What was the reasonable price? Come on now, Please, if I said Pretty Please, tell us all. We want to help you celebrate. Where did you get the great prize?

Thanks for all the enthusiasm! It's nice to share and get the feedback.
Ok, here it is. I got a West Quoddy with the stamp too, in a box that looks like it just came from California yesterday, on ebay. The bid I made did not meet the reserve($50 higher). The seller said they were going to put it back up $25 lower, so I made an offer to split the difference, and it was accepted. It's #402 and it's spectacular! Yes, it's an old piece, but it's always intrigued me since I saw it on the first catalog. Now, I'll have to visit it.

I was lucky enough to find 2 of the original '17', canadian, lightning rod, white box, castle studio, tripledigit, harbourlights at retail when my favorite dealer was cleaning out her stockroom. I got Grosse Point and Cape Blanco and it is a nice feeling to have a couple of the original's. Great job Bob, you got one of the super lights. Jim Johnson

Bob,
I know how you feel, I just got the WQ myself from Ebay yesterday. You wanted to know something, I didn't really care about the price,(well not too much). I can hardly wait to get it!

Such a deal!...BOB! Once in a while a good one comes along. I bought my West Quoddy for $115 in January of 1998. I thought I did well at that time. Bob

Congratulations Bob. West Quoddy is a great one to have especially when it's your first of the "17". Joanne

Congratulations Bob. It is exciting. My first of the "17" was Boston Harbor. I purchased two of them the same day at a local store. Got them both for retail, one with rod, and the other without. I went bonkers then checking every store I could within three states. Haven't found anything that good since that first purchase. Rusty
