I passed a personal milestone today… it was Thirty years ago today that I started working at WISH TV8. Well actually it was Thirty years ago that I started getting paid to work at WISH. My brother had worked at WISH the previous five years to me starting there and I stopped by on a regular (free) basis to help out and to learn the business. It was when he left and went to work teaching the Nikon School around the country that I was officially hired. As my boss Lee Giles (who hired me and is still my boss) said when he hired me, “Darn it, I guess we have to start paying you now.” I responded with, “ don’t worry your not paying me that much.” Fortunately he took it with the humor that I had intended….. he must have since I have been with him for thirty years now.

BTW I didn’t get a Gold Rolex today… but I did get something much more valuable…. A card signed by my friends in the newsroom, one of which has been a fellow employee and close friend for over Twenty Eight of those years…..
