I asked some of the Harbour light staff at Atlanta if Anchor Bay would be discontinued.
I was told that they are only going to make Coast Guard ships and that they will finish up all the Light ships. There are only six light ships left. Is this correct? I thought there was almost thirty. I am not sure if they meant that there are six lightships for Anchor Bay to make or that there are only six light ship left in the U.S.

I had visions in my mind of a double release this November. It'll be the 25th anniversary of the sinking. Edmund Fitzgerld in Anchor Bay and Whitefish Point in Harbour Lights.

Hey Daniel...that was a great thing to ask, and I must admit you really have me curious about the meaning of their reply. Maybe one of our readers will be able to enlighten us.

"All the remaining lightships..."

Hmmm.

There are 15 Lightships that exist today:
www.HarbourLights.com/lightships

Harbour Lights/ Anchor Bay has done four of these and one lightship that no longer exists today (Early Columbia)

OR it could mean they will 'do' the lightships that Anchor Bay has in development. No telling how many if that's the case.

There have been hints that Anchor Bay models are on hold until the problem with display cases is resolved - availability, cost, necessity?

I would like to the the Nantucket done (the one that was recently sold) as it is the only one I've actually seen. Maybe we could get the new owner to sign them for us.

Hey Sean, ...If they decide to do boats/ships/vessels more than 200 feet to scale, I can recommend a good boat mover. The only problem I can see is having a room big enough to display it! (lol)
