I was curious - are there Seahorses on the Anchor Bay Ships? I just received my first (and second, third, and forth) Anchor Bay Ship(s) and was wondering if there was indeed a seahorse on these also - since they are also made by Harbour Lights. I thought maybe the seahorses were only on the lighthouse replicas, but we found one on the Bill Younger Memorial Tree. This makes me wonder if they are also located on the ships. Please let me know if I should start looking for a seahorse. Thank you. smile

Of course Bill and Harbour Lights denies any knowledge of ANY seahorses.

I've never found any on an AB -- or anything else that might serve as a 'signature'.

But keep looking.

I don't know how they can deny the Seahorses - I mean - they are on every single lighthouse - sometimes more than once. Maybe Bill Younger needs better glasses or he needs to fire the person making the molds. smile I'll keep looking, but if any one has an answer, please let me know before I go crazy looking for the Seahorse! Thanks!

I got out my Cape Hatteras out and looked for the seahorse - I wanted to see it because being a newbie, I didn't know anything about the seahorses. But I looked and looked but couldn't find the seahorse. Can anyone tell me where on Cape Hatteras or Point Allerton is the seahorse. If I knew what I was looking for, it would make it easier to find on other models.

Eskilady, the best way to "cheat" and find the seahorses is to go to Harbour Lights Seahorse Page . They have created a page that everyone posts where the Seahorses are located on each Lighthouse. Sometimes they don't have a seahorse location listed, then HL collectors get the chance to post it for them. (I have done so a few times wink )

The seahorses aren't always the same - some are small, some big, some are raised and some are engraved in a item. Most of the time the seahorse is located somewhere on the base of the lighthouse - they don't usually have the seahorse on the lighthouse itself (Seahorse Key Lighthouse, aka Cedar Keys).

Looking for the seahorses is my favorite. When I get a new lighthouse that's the first thing I do. My girlfriend at work, Dianne, and I have a standing bet to see who can find it first. We each get 15 mins - the person that buys the lighthouse gets to check it out first. The first person to find it then runs to the computer and sees if it's posted on the HL website, if not we then claim it. It just makes collecting more interesting. laugh Then we get to sit down and appreciate the beauty of the item. :p

Good luck spotting the Seahorse - the first one is always the hardest to find. smile

I FOUND IT ON MY CAPE HATTERAS!!! It was just a fluke as my figurine has no flag so I had no idea where to look. It is not on the seahorse page and the page would not allow me to post my discovery but I will try later. Thanks for your help!! I am thrilled!!

When Bill was here for our fundraiser last month he confessed that there are Seahorse eek on the lights. He was telling a store about the daughter of a collector, who searches each and every light for the seahorse. So it is out there from Bill's own lips, they exist and it has not been a mass hallucination on the part of collectors.

BonnieJean:

I only know of one lighthouse with more than one seahorse. That is Cedar Keys with (I think) 11.

Jupiter OE has two seahorses on it!!

If you still need help... there are 12 different images on this animated gif,
if you start with the flag image as image one....
then the seahorses are shown in image three on the right side and image eleven on the left side...
