I got my signed Regional piece today and really enjoy it. I don't know what it is about Florida LHs...yes, I do the beach, the sand, the sun, the palm trees! This one is a new art for harbour lights with the tower not only askew but with the added illusion of erosion under one side of the tower, placing it in serious jeopardy. The hurricane damaged buildings, free-standing chimney, and the brown/gold in the top of the palm leaves shows the intense struggle this lighthouse had endured to survive. And yes, there is a picnic blanket on the beach to signify hope. It's great to know the tower has been straightened and there is a group to continue their watch over it. I think this unique piece is a definite WOW! for me.

Amen to your review, Bob! You mentioned the Florida landscapes on the HL pieces well, you should come to this site. The beaches are prisitine and I hear the shelling is out of this world. My Cape St. George will get signed during the Regional on April 1st.
This light should have crashed into the sea many years ago...but as you said, it hung on. Many articles have been written about it in the newspapers here in FL and quite frankly there have been many skeptics about its survival...but, those who wanted it righted and saved have won out. Getting the necessary materials and equipment to the site is not easy either.
My mission several weekends ago was to go to the island and walk to the light. The research that I had done did not indicate that there are two St George islands. Big and little. The lighthouse is on little and is seperated from big making it impossible to get there any other way but by boat or seaplane. Because of the currents, it is difficult to get out of a boat near the light, so lighthouse lovers and shell seekers must disembark on the bay side and walk a mile to the light. Now, I have a reservation for Memorial Day weekend to go on a boat trip. Hope the mosquitoes won't carry me away, but I am looking forward to the trip and seeing the light. Derith

We got our Cape St. George on the 10th of March at the San Diego Event with Bill signing it right out of the box. I agree, it is a real work of art-- the detail is outstanding. I keep finding new stuff on it except the "hippo". It refuses to be seen!!!

I haven't seen this piece in person, but the pictures look great. Hey, any way to get one of these even though Bill is not going to be anywhere close to me that I can get to this year? Rusty
