I'm anxiously awaiting something I always wanted for my HL Collection. Will it be delivered today? Will it come after Christmas? Not the best time of the year to be shipping breakable things. I guess I just have to trust the packer and the shipping company. Any guesses on what it might be?

I would guess that it's a Coquille River since you mentioned several times that you were missing that piece.

Even if I'm wrong, I know the feeling. Several years ago I bought a "white tip" Hatteras from Sandy and it was delivered Christmas Eve by UPS. It was a nerve racking time for me during shipment. It was sent overnight and arrived in perfect condition. It was packed well enough to withstand an earthquake. Thank you again Sandy. Now, as for me, I'm still looking for HL 102 with a black/dark green tip to complete my collection.

Not a Coquille, Rich. I had two of them at one time.

You're good! Yes, I am expecting a single digit Flag# Southeast Block Island. I started my collection with Southeast Block Island in the summer of 1994. I purchased two of them at Shelia's of Block Island, the then HL Dealer on the island. It was my ultimate first choice when single digit flags were being offered. I was told I would get one but it didn't happen. Now I finally have one on the way along with two other single digit flag#'s. Care to guess what the others might be?

I would guess #9's, but as to the other actual lighthouse names I'm not that good. Congratulations on finding what you missed out on in the past!!!

I've always liked Southeast Block Island, RI since my early days of collecting HL in 1995. Besides being a National Historic Landmark with an active aid to navigation 1st order lens and maybe a B&B someday, HL has made it available in many models: 128, 403, 403R, 620, 703D, 662, LL 114, and of course AP. I guess other collectors and HL liked it too!

Almost missed the fact that Southeast Block was also included in HL613 Spyglass set-New England and as HL662G "On the Move" along with advertising and Regional event 2003 pin-back button.

Does anyone know of any other HL light that has been put out in any more models than this special light??

The other two lights are front the New England area. By the way, I received notice that my package wasn't going to be shipped until 12/28/09. Actually, that was the wise thing to do to avoid getting jammed up in the shipping rush before Christmas.

Paul, it would certainly be nice to have a single Flag# Hatteras or St A's.

I was answering Max's question about other lights that Harbour Lights has made in many different replicas, not what two other lights you are getting Bob..

Excluding buttons and advertising but including AP's, I think Cape Hatteras (11 models) did beat out Southeast Block Island (10 models) by one model--Guardian of the Night I forgot about.

However, I think Southeast Block Is. did beat out St. Augustine (9 models) by one.

Did I figure correctly Paul??

By AP I meant Artist Proof (or sometimes a Paint Sample). I included one for each light (my personal bias).

I see where we differ on the count:

1. I considered HL275 Old St. Augustine, FL a
separate distinct model from HL138.

2. I considered HL695 Lens as not a model of the
the whole lighthouse with its buildings.

Interesting exercise--maybe these 3 lights ARE the Top 3 as far as different models HL has made of the same lighthouse. Thanks for joining in Paul.

Artist Proofs and Paint Samples aren't different models, they are just AP's not numbered models.. An AP or Paint Sample would only be a different model if if it wasn't produced but re-commissioned and changed before production. Like the Montauk OE I have or the late Fred's MacQuarie..

Good one Paul!! Beckoning Beacons Signs HL628 and HL630 are easily overlooked. But I didn't include them as a distinct model because they have 2 different lights on the same base with an attached sign which affects the correct representation and reproduction by HL of an actual lighthouse model.

Now, a question of "GAL"? Could you explain?

Hey Bob M., you got me thinking about this. What's your opinion on Paul's and my work here??

I think the reproduction of Hatteras on the Beacons is one of Harbour Lights best (closest to the real Hatteras). I am sure they used Hatteras as well as Assateague to help with the sales of the Beacons ..

So I think they should be included in the numbers..

Great American Lighthouse was the first year of the Open Edition of Hatteras. It is the same replica basically just changed the name (labels) to GLOW after a threat of trademark infringement with the name Great American Lighthouse. I found a GAL version on a store shelf 4 years after they came out with the OE Hatteras.

Have you got your lights yet, Bob?

Keep up the great work! The more new posts the better. If people visit and there is nothing new, they may not be back for awhile.

An excellent job in listing the list of Hatteras and st Augustine,

But

I know you are not going to believe this but there is still one missing for the Hatteras and for the St Augustine. Paul maybe they are still on your Christmas tree? laugh

CM0001 St. Augustine FL

CM102 Cape Hatteras NC

http://www.harbourlights.com/catalog/ornaments/index.htm

There are also the mugs if we want to cover all the bases.

http://www.harbourlights.com/catalog/dinnerware/mugs/

If we really want to cover all the product lines:

How about the Sky Ballon SB003-SA Saint Augustine for the St Augustine list.
It was made by Harbour lights with their sticker right under it. laugh

You are correct Daniel CM101 and CM102 are still on my Christmas tree.. It is a Brass Ornament tree that hold around 360 ornaments of which over 80% are Harbour Lights ornaments..

I gave all of my Sky Balloons to my son and daughter-in-law, so no images of them..

I think when I started thinking of all the HL models (or sculptures) made of Southeast Block Island I forgot to define specifically the meaning of "model" as I was thinking of it. This made for confusion I discovered.

I'm going to work on that soon. Paul has already pointed out some inconsistencies in my listings that need correcting--AP's for one example. Beautiful visual aids as usual Paul!

Thanks Daniel for pointing out some other HL products and their links that might not easily come to mind. I did briefly have a passing thought about Skybound balloons, but the thought kept right on going and didn't stick. Does anyone have a link to Skybound balloons? For some reason I can't access the HL archives today.

Appreciate the links to mugs and new style ornaments you shared Daniel. In fact, although our 6 CM ornaments aren't on a tree, my wife and I just happened to look at them recently. My wife doesn't like the 2007 style ornaments, but I think I'm starting to appreciate them more than when I first saw them.

As we looked the ornaments over, I wondered if the lighthouses featured in the 2007 ornaments were close in size to the Spyglass series lights??

The Sky bound balloons are no longer available.
They were not part of the new ownership of Harbour Lights in 2006, but was taken over by Younger and Associates and originally headed up by Kim

Research I did on the Sky Bound Balloons

One correction, Daniel, Skybound was headed up by Nancy under the Younger and Associates banner after the sale..

Here's an image that John shot of the St. Augustine Balloon..

I am pretty sure I am right.
My understanding was that Kim initially took over the business right after the Sale so Bill and Nancy could travel. That is why I said "originally headed up by Kim"

http://www.lighthousekeepers.com/cgi-bin/forumscgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001928

But not to long after that Nancy took over the business.

So I think we could say we are both right.

Here's a quick and dirty flash shot.. I have two low wattage spots on it and it revolves, but I need to find two more powerful spots for next year..

It is 7 feet tall and about 3 feet across.

If I get a chance before we take it down I will shot an image with my lights I use to shoot the HL lighthouses..

On Daniel's link above about Skybound, take time to reread what insight he had back in April 2006 to address HL declining sales and how LLOM could be such an important line in the future--this being written over 3.5 years ago!

Now today we see HL really promoting the LLOM in Limited Editions and getting years of tragic overproduction of HL Lim. Eds. under much better control. Tony is even posting today about a LLOM Limited Edition and last night on eBay two separate 2009 Christmas pieces (Burnt Is.) at a production of 750 sold for about $225 and $255.
Some glimmers of hope again!!
