After getting their wrist slapped, looks like Lighthouse Depot has the OK to post the new Fresnel lenses. Here are the links to the larger views...

You're absolutely right, Tim. The two new lenses are wonderful pieces which should sell out in record time, especially after the frenzy over the first lens.

I checked with my dealer to make sure they were on my autoship, and they are. Everyone should get their orders in early to avoid being left out. There may be a few speculators out there who will buy them up fast for resale at higher pricing.

We got our Lighthouse Depot catalog in the mail today (Late Fall '01) and it has pictures - as well as a "caveat" that they are to ship in January 22002...called immediately and am on the list - I WILL have my lens! They are gorgeous, battery operated, and one apparently has hinged 'door' to the inside of the lamp - - really cool!

For those buying from Autoship dealers, remember your dealer will be receiving these two lenses when shipped. Check with that dealer and reserve yours. Other dealers will also receive this piece. Word right now is they will NOT be on allocation.

"Fifty lashes with a wet noodle for you", Rod! For some odd reason that came to mind when I saw your comment. That was a very old expression from when I was in my younger (no pun intended) days. I wonder were that saying came from?

I just got my Lighthouse Depot Catalog and my do those lenses look great! Can't wait too see them in person. They look even better than the first one, if that's possible.
Battery operated and the Clam shell hinged! HL has outdone themselves again!!!

HL650 - 3- 1/2 Order Clamshell
HL651 - 3rd Order Beehive

Note that the clamshell is not hinged - just looks that way.

Too bad about the clamshell not being hinged. That would have been too cool. Lighthouse Depot's write up does imply that it is hinged, even though it does not say the hinge actually works.

John, if I'm not mistaken, when Bill was announcing the lenses at the Reunion, I believe he said the Clamshell was hinged. Can we verify if I heard right or if Bill was just being Bill!

Maureen says it's not hinged -- as of yesterday.

I'm Disappointed that the clam shell is not hinged too. Lighthouse Depot in the late Fall 2001 Cataloge says

"A limited edition of 5000, each lighted battery operated lens is mounted on a wood-like resin base, and the "clamshell" lens is hinged."

I know St. John would never lead us astray but apperently Lighthouse Depot did.

but Rod - think of all the appreciation between now and then (if I'm alive to see 'em) - oh well - i was ssssoooooo exxcited that my fingers stuttered!

No bamboo sticks for you - lashes with wet seaweed is more appropriate!
