If you want these HL pieces for your collection, and they are all MIB, I'd sure go for it - 50% off is an excellent price and I doubt you'll find better. The A/B at retail is one you should be able to find for a while so perhaps no rush there.

Speaking of 50% off, yet another dealer in my region wants to get rid of his HL's and no longer be an authorized dealer...the pieces just aren't moving well anymore...too many GLOW's, too-high edition numbers, and too many pieces being dumped cheaply on E-bay...how sad...are you listening HL?

I agree, this shop has carried them form the start and this is the second dealer locally who has dropped line. That is why I was wondering if I should purchase. There is another dealer who just refuses to put her's on sale, but she has some old ones still setting now.

There are several in the Atlanta area that are just sitting there. One dealer (who originally told me about HL's)is piling up with HL's.. In fact he has the new Christmas piece just sitting there. He is not sure what to do. He has the same complaints, LE numbers to high, and GLOWS everywhere.. He hasn't dropped his prices yet... I just thought this might be a problem in Atlanta....

You can help the stores sell them and other collectors find them by contacting retired@retail and sending Rick a list of the retired one's and specialty one like Christmas lighthouses.

You can go through the 5 steps found here:
www.harbourlights.com/retired/index.htm

Or e-mail:

retired@harbourlights.com

You can also suggest that the dealer contact... 800-365-1219 Harbour Lights and give them a list of their older pieces and then do it yourself because your dealer might get busy and forget. Harbour Lights has offered this service all along to their dealers. Retired@retail is the Internet version of both helping get the collector and the dealer together.

P.S. since Harbour Lights has a rule against selling them at a discount, the dealer might make some more money and decide to stay on as a dealer. When dealers start discounting HL lighthouses, it is the beginning of the end. One reason is the regular customers at their stores won't buy when a lighthouse first comes out, they will wait, hoping for another discount down the road on these other Harbour Lights lighthouses.
