Morris Island GLOW has arrived this week. The final limited edition, Staten Island Range, has been delayed and is not expected until mid-June or later. The regional event piece, Admiralty Head, will have a limited number air-freighted in to Harbour Lights, so that they can ship out 1 display piece to each participating dealer this coming week. The remainder of the regional pieces will arrive by camel in late June or early July.
The next set of new releases is being announced on June 12th.

Kathy had told us that it would be on the Harbour Lights web site today, but John C. says that collector's are not supposed to find out until 12:00:01 AM on Wednesday.
So, we can't tell you what's on the fax we received from Harbour Lights this morning.

I have seen the lights! Went to my dealer and have seen the June releases. Since the email announcement is coming out tonight, I won't spoil the surprise, but will just say that there is one light that many folks have been asking HL to make for some time now. Six new LEs, one GLOW, Christmas light, the Mackinaw ABs (we already knew about these), and eight LLOMs.

I've seen the list, but not the photos. Some of the stores are begining to post the info on their sites. Melody, me thinks I know the piece you refer too!

Too cool! Our own lost Galveston Jetty - not gone all that long either. Another loss to lighthouse history in such a rich state, at that! Of our few existing lights, only Matagorda and the Lydia Ann haven't made it yet - although there is a LLOM of the "peppermill". AND Maine LLOM's - really special for those of us going to Maine in October! So glad to see Conanicut did make it - lots of us were rooting for that beautiful light!

A few thoughs on the new releases;
The prices seem to be up a little bit. $99.00 for the Christmas piece seems a bit much.
Why would they release Point Fermin as an L.E.? Seems like a big mistake to me.
I like Galveston Jetty. A very unusual light. All the other look pretty plain Jane.
Just my opinion.

My faves from the new releases: The Macks, of course Piney Point Galveston Sullivan's Island Range My disappointment: No Fresnel lens this year- but the Macks definitely soothe that disappointment. Next year, a lens?? And keep those Anchor Bay CG editions coming, please. I like the collection of LLOM's from Maine too.

Of course, you can see all of the new releases on Lighthouse Depot.com! (just don't buy them there).
They look exceptional, agree prices are up.
Once again, I don't understand WHY we have to have Point Fermin re-released as a limited edition???? This was the very first society piece and was even insured as a mini to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Society. The Society Sure, join the Society because this is the only way you can get the year's "special piece". (NOT!!) Don't waste the $39 (you get nothing anyway) and just wait a few years. Or buy it on ebay for with a deep discount.

The detail on some of this group of Little Lights is incredible, the Owl's Head Little light even sports a free standing tree.. Sue (my wife) made the comment " Harry has outdone himself with some of those little lights." when I was shooting them for the website.. 2006 Little Lights

Or buy it on ebay for with a deep discount. Your post is out of order. YOU are welcome to buy pieces from any retailer YOU want. it is inappropriate for you to say where NOT to buy them. You are liable for what you say here. If you have a problem with any dealer, start at that dealer; if you don't get resolution, contact Harbour Lights (yes, I know). If you think you have a case, talk to other collectors. We also discourage posts encouraging buyers to go to any particular dealer. The new releases were NOT on Lighthouse Depot's site until after 9 a.m. ET this morning. I know because I checked it before that time. They were available FIRST on www.HarbourLights.com. I know because I put them up for people to look at. Before they were posted on HarbourLights.com, those who had signed up for enews got a link to the page to see them sometime after 12:01 AM today. Point Fermin was released as a limited edition because it was renovated over the past few years and made to look like it did an a past era. People who are seeing it now have asked for it to be made available in the present 'dress.' Again, you're welcome to your opinions about the line, the prices, the sizes, the colors, etc. It's not appropriate to tell people to NOT buy from a specific dealer here.

Sure, join the Society because this is the only way you can get the year's "special piece". (NOT!!) Don't waste the $39 (you get nothing anyway) and just wait a few years. Or buy it on ebay for with a deep discount. Since this is the United States of America, land of the free and home of the brave, people can do whatever they want as long as it's lawful. I look at my $39 yearly fee to join the Collector Society as a sign of support to a company that makes the collectibles I very much enjoy collecting. You are absolutely correct about waiting it out for a cheaper price on eBay. If that's your choice, then so be it. Just remember that someone paid $39 for the "special piece" (a rather low price for a somewhat limited edition) in support of Harbour Lights. The more support the company gets, the more we collectors benefit from the company's gift at signings and events across the country. Harbour Lights has always been very generous with its collectors and donations to clubs for lighthouse restoration. I for one would like to see that tradition continue. The choice IS yours, and YOU can do whatever fits into your collecting plans. I will remain a member of the Collector Society. In my opinion, it's the right thing to do. Bob

I still have not received my email from Harbour Lights. I know that I signed up for e-news from the site when it was first offered, because I noted it in a ledger along with the password.
When I didn't receive this expected one, I signed up again this morning, using the same password as the first time.
No matter, I saw the list on a dealer's site yesterday.

For those who didn't sign up - or who didn't get it this time; about 25 came back as incorrect or were blocked by the recipient. Here's the link to the enewsletter: www.harbourlights.com/email/june_14_2006.htm

Daniel, the Sullivan Range Lighthouse keepers house is one of the best houses Harbour Lights has sculpted IMHO.. The detail is incredible!! For those who like the little extras on the sculptures there is even a well weeded garden (the light green area in the front of the house)...

I agree.... I like the "Gingerbread" style house with all the carpentry detail, which is obviously well represented on thi piece, even captured in the photo.
This piece is on my "wish list" with my dealer....

Paul, the images on the HL site don't seem as crisp as they used to be. Has their file size been reduced for faster loading? I know it used to take them forever to load for me (on dial-up) and now they're popping up quickly.

Could it be settings on your monitor? Right-click on a blank area of your desktop, choose properties, then the settings tab Choose a higher image quality. Could be the monitor needs some degaussing (or dusting). Or maybe a new Rx on those glasses, Sue. Anybody else noticing blurry pictures?

Admiralty Head Regional piece arrived a couple days ago. The new Little Lights are arriving at dealers right now.
In the new set of limited editions, the first two that are expected, Galveston Jetty and Piney Point, should arrive in mid-to-late July.

Tim is right. The lighthouses are so fantastic it is hard not getting back on an auto-shipment again and collecting them all. There is only two that I think I could live without. Lime Kiln Washington and Admiralty Head Washington. The rest are fantastic and only 2,500 of the Piney Point are being made.
