Had a message on my answering machine today from my dealer that #662 SE Block Island on the Move was in. Hopefully I will be able to pick it up tomorrow.

Dick, I think you must have an inside track on all of these. MOre often than not, you're the first one to let us know that your lighthouse is in. And here on the East Coast, I wait aand wait. Thanks for letting us know.

My only thought is that Colorado must be the UPS distribution point of the world. I can't explain why Colorado Springs can be the first point of delivery, when there are dealers in California that should get things sooner. However, I'm not complaining, as it is nice to get to see things before others, and let people know the good news when the HL's are in the distribution chain.

It's been in Indiana for almost a month now... a lot of of depends on whether the dealer has chosen to participate in the Regionals...

As Paul notes. In order to carry this piece, a dealer MUST be a supporter of the Regional Events. There is a list of dealers at:

S.E.Block on the move is one piece I'm anxious to see in person. Lorna and I were there a couple of times watching the progress of the move. We were also their for the relighting ceremony.

I placed an order with a dealer back in December in Guilford, CT (Melissa's Hallmark) which is known to support the regional events and gets the bi-annual in-store event. I checked the HL website and this dealer is not a participant. The dealer has already taken 20 orders!

Interestingly, the website does not list Lighthouse Depot as a regional supporter, yet they have been advertising the Southeast B.I. piece in their catalog and on their website.

What's the story here?

I would say tha the rep in that area needs to get the store participating information to Harbour Lights so they can be seen on the list...

Well you were right on the button with the answer to my question. The Guilford store called back today and said that the rep. screwed it up and supposedly the pieces are on the way.

I called my dealer in Oregon on Saturday to inquire about the Southeast Block on the move. She advised me that they didn't have any yet but were taking orders. I ordered two, one for me and one for a gift.

Now, I wonder when they will arrive?

Hi from the HL homefront! I'm glad to hear you are all looking forward to your SE Blocks on the move. As far as shipping, it does depend on when we receive the dealers confirmation to be a participating dealer and then we have to make sure that everyone for the upcoming regionals are shipped first. I hope this helps! KTF

I've had mine since I purchased it at the In-store Signing Event March 16th in Orlando at my dealer's. Bill Younger even signed it for me! It's an interesting piece, though it only moves about ½ an inch. One thing is for sure, International Chimney should have helped pay for this mold to be done! If they weren't known by now for their work on many different lighthouses around the US, they will be always know for moving the Southeast Block Lighthouse. The only thing that is missing from the advertising is their phone number! The moving part is interesting, but the most fun I had with this piece was trying to find the Seahorse - it only took me 25 mins to find it! laugh

I have to say that so far, Pharos is my favorite from those released so far. But I'm still waiting for the rest of the year's collection to come in. smile

Picked mine up at Rep Event in Taylorsville, MD on 5 April 2003. Well worth the wait. Great detail and house does actually move.

Mark my word. Hear what I am about to say. Absorb this information as if you were studying for an exam that determined whether you live or die. Do not turn away or attempt to flee. Feel the visceral weight of what I am about to communicate to you. Do not underestimate my conviction when I say it. Fill your heart with shock and awe (cardiac patients, see your doctor first). Feel the euphoria as your brain commands your adrenal glands to erupt with glee. And behold the verdict. . .
