The two-for-one set of Panama Canal lights has been sold out to dealers.

The edition size is 4,000 for the pair depicting Miraflores and Gutan.

If you'd like a set, be sure and contact your dealer ASAP to reserve one.

As Paul noted in a phone call "Being sold out to dealers" means this piece is retired -- retired before shipment.

There have been only a few other issues that were retired prior to shipment. Let's see if we can remember them -- one per person, please

Protect the collection! Smear lambs blood on and bar the door! Let's pray that "UGLY" isn't contageous!

Actually, the "Gutan" light is a misspelling of the light located at the famous GATUN locks in the Panama Canal. Here we see the "U" and the "A" transposed inadvertantly.

I noticed this in the latest HL brochure and then brought it to their attention.

I contacted Zina, their e-mail correspondent and wondered, tongue-in-cheek, if the incorrect spelling were some sort of contest to determine how closely collectors were reading Harbour Lights' promotional material, and if this were the case, had I won some sort of prize? :-)

HL responded in a very gracious manner, said they'd correct their printed material, and then sent me a "thank you" package of HL prints, cards, and a genuine regulation issue Harbour Lights key fob!

One wonders, however, if the pieces themselves will have the incorrect spelling, and if so, will they be revised, and will this lead to a new quest for the zany collectors who must have every variation extant? Much like the "Admirality" Head Light thing which occurred way back.

The AP I shot pictures of at Rosemont has it spelled Gatun on the flag. I am rebuilding my computer system and reloading all programs and upgrading them this weekend. As soon as I get Photoshop loaded back on I will replace this rambling note with an image. I did my internet connection reload first, forum access being the number one priority.

P.S. Bob, I resemble that zany collector remark

Paul, you zany, live-life-just-a-little-bit-on-the-wild-side kind of guy, am I to understand you'll be off on the holy quest for TWO sets of Panama Canal Lights? :-)

Sorry the "Gatun" for "Gutan" spelling error was mine alone in this thread. HL has brought my misspelling on another page in this issue.
