During lunch today picked up the latest releases from my dealer. LE's #278 Battery Point, CA & #282 Wolf Trap, VA along with GLOW #441 Cape Lookout, NC arrived yesterday. Upon initial inspection both LE's are well done and have good detail, but neither jumps out for me like some of the other LE's. The most interesting of the two is Battery Point which has a fairly large footprint. It has some nice detail inside of several doors, and an interesting front door railing. Cape Lookout is also well done, as have been recent GLOWs.

My dealer advised me those two are on their way to my home. Now what two do I remove from the curios to make room for the new ones? It seems like many of my older HL's have been reassigned to storage in my cellar. These new pieces are just too nice not to display.

Bob, time to "bite the bullet" and buy another curio cabinet! That will at least solve your "problem" for a little while!

Two boxes arrived from my dealer today. I haven't opened them yet but I suspect they are Wolf Trap, Battery Point, the AB inflatable, and one other.

I would have opened them tonight but my modem died and I had to run down to Best Buy to purchase another. Then I installed it and it actually works. Usually I have my computer guy handle that stuff but I got brave and did it myself.

My dealer called today, but my 14 yr old took the message..."Something you ordered came in" will have to run over there tomorrow, can't wait, I think it may be Wolf Trap

Much to my disappointment, my dealer did not have a lighthouse for me frown so still waiting.

Battery Point has arrived! A rather large piece to say the least. It has nice coloring and two very large trees. The silver hand rails to the front door seem to have presented a problem. Mine were slightly bent out of alignment with the green hand rails just above them. The posts for the rails are not plumb. All four posts are bent in the middle. Is this the way they are supposed to be?

Wolf Trap looks good. I like the fact that the lantern room is offset instead of in the middle of the roof like most lights that are cylindrical in shape. It is somewhat of a "plain Jane" but it is also very well done. The size of the piece is perfect! It's a little larger than some of the other cylindrical HL's, and I like that!

I'm happy to add these two new HL's to my collection!

The Battery Point A/P that I won in the drawing has streight handrails. This is a great lighthouse but care must be taken when it is unpacked. The trees look great but seem frail once the foam is removed. Whoever packed that piece did a great job it's like a puzzle that i hope I don't have to put together again. I saw Wolf Trap but I was not impressed with it, but I am not a big fan of the spark plug type lighthouses. You might want to compare your Battery Point to the picture on the web site.

Nice photos of Battery Point, Paul. I think my favorite "feature" of this piece is the hole in the foliage of the tree. Looking at the close-up of the flag reveals a rather large space between the two 5's. Perhaps the edition size of this piece wasn't determined until quite late?
