Does anyone know which will be the first piece of 2004 to be released? Does anyone know when that piece will be available from the HL Dealers? Inquiring minds on the East Coast, where it's in the low 40's with rain and drizzle, would like to know. Bob

We can't forget that "Oak Island" has been delayed until January of 2004. BUt for the2004 releases my guess would be "Race Point". Now I want everyone to understand that this is only a guess and not based on any information. Hopefully, we are going to see some pictures of the first half releases soon.

I would have to say it will be a tie between Race Point, Cape Flattery and Misipilion. This is only a guess from sunny Florida where it is 83 degrees, starting to rain and then turning cold(40 degrees Saturday night.)

My guess is that Mispillion will be one of the first ones issued in 2004! (Strictly a guess, though)

My guess would be Indian River De. life saving station as I have heard that it is about ready to be released. Hal

I predict that Indian River Lifesaving Station, Cape Flattery, and Oak Island GLOW will be the first pieces released in 2004, along with of course, the event piece Three Sisters. The Hereford Inlet 4th Order Fresnel Lens, with brass access doors, will be one of the last pieces released in the first half of 2004. And the Three Sisters will be spectacular, arranged on a single, 10" long base, with lantern rooms on all three, and FALL FOLIAGE! Now go to http://www.harbourlights.com/catalog/2004/winter_preview.htm to see if I'm right. Bruce

I'm sure you also noticed the hefty price tag on the lens....... Interesting to look at the edition sizes - none more than 5500.

Pretty good detective work there, Sherlock. Bruce looked at the URL for the last 'preview page' and came up with what the latest one should be and viola! it worked. I had only posted the page an hour before so the home office could look it over before linking to it from the www.HarbourLights.com home page. Now I'm going to have to change those URLs while they are still in development. The Lighthouse Legacy was mailed Monday and should be showing up around the country soon (working from San Diego to the east by plane, truck and mule train.) You'll find these items and more in that issue including a little mention about yours truly.

I sure hope they change the color of the Rondout Lighthouse. It isn't even close.

Little River, Maine - Race Point, Massachusetts - Three Sisters, Massachusetts - all looking great. For that matter that total lineup is looking great. Castle Hill, Rhode Island as a GLOW and lighting up (from what I can tell by the picture) was quite a surprise. I think we're looking at a "Banner Year" in 2004.

Just called my dealer and reserved Indian River and Mispillion.
I hope Mispillion looks better in person than it does in the picture.

Port Isabel Texas as a GLOW? That doesn't seem to have been a best seller as an LE, I have seen them on the shelf at retail at several dealers over the past couple of years.

I've got to agree with you, JJ. I own five Port Isabels. It's a nice piece but I guess it didn't sell very well. You would think collectors would have bought it just because it was one of the original "5500 edition size" series. It may not be an elaborate HL, but the piece was well done, and a nice example of early HL's. It is probably still available at retail at most every dealer that still has it in stock, but why pay retail. I'd be willing to sell three of the five I have for $35 each and that includes shipping and insurance. You could even have it before Christmas if you act now. Bob

I also agree with JJ When I first bought my Port Isabel, My dealer told me I must have been collecting them all. He said that P.I. was the worst seller of all of the 5500’s. And that the only collectors to buy one were those that just had to have them all. Isabel had to be the last 5500 to clear off the shelves. It is a nice looking light, but just wasn’t popular.

Gee Todd, I was going to announce that -- but I just got my Legacy yesterday. Nice job. Rachel called me several weeks ago saying they were looking for a winter lighthouse photo. I referred her to: www.LighthouseStickers.com/stickers/FALL_WINTER_stickers.htm Nice work. I still remember your adventure posted about your trip. Maybe someone can dig that up from the basement and surface it again?

While this is off the topic of "First to be released in 2004", it is the story John referenced above. Since then, I have joined the Saginaw River Marine Historical Society and donated my time towards the restoration of this Lighthouse. It is my hope that one day Harbour Lights will finally sculpt the Saginaw River Rear Range Light. While it is not well known, it is historically significant as it was part of the first "Range Light" system in the U.S.
I would like to thank Harbour Lights and Rachel for their interest in my average photos. Thanks!
