I picked up the Christmas 2002, Crossover Island at my dealer's yesterday and I was a little disappointed that it didn't have the usual snowman. I thought all the Christmas lighthouses had a snowman.

I went and checked it out today at a local dealer . I was not overly impressed. It is not as nice as some of the other Christmas pieces. Needless to say, it is still on display at the store. I will have to pass on this one.

I have a question about Crossover Island. My piece arrived in the mail today and while I was looking it over I noticed something that I can't figure out what it is. As you look straight on at the piece, with the tower on the right front and the keeper's house on the left front, you are looking at the smaller front porch with the wreath on the door. To the right of the porch are a set of double windows on the upper and lower levels. In between these windows is a horizontal line that extends out from the clapboard siding that is about 1/3 of an inch in length, is painted a dirty gray with red streaks through it. What is it? Am I missing something on my piece that may have broken off? My piece number is 0596. Anybody, could you please help me and tell me what it is. Rich

I have to disagree with you, kiki and lightkeeper. I think this is a fabulous Christmas HL. There may be no snowman but there is certainly a lot of detail on this piece. On a scale of 10, I would give this one a 9+. HL out did themselves on this one...great piece! Bob

I agree with Bob...this one is a winner. I rearranged my Christmas pieces putting 4 to a shelf, using 2 shelves. I have East Quoddy on one end and Crossover Island on the other and it looks great! By contrast the first 4 years on the top shelf look a little drab. This piece has lots of great detail and I'm sure there will be even more things to notice when I have time to really look at it later. I love the 3 Christmas pieces that have red on them. It makes a nice contrast with the snow. Being a native Texan, I don't get to see snow very often so I do like it in my HL's. Terry

I was very surprised when I learned Crossover Island was to be this year's Christmas Piece. Especially since the lights on the St. Lawrence River are/were seasonal lights and in later years they weren't manned during the winter. Then when I saw the piece in Chicago it seemed as though the tower was a bit off, too tall. But seeing as it is a NY light and Sisters Island's neighbor I knew I'd get it anyway. I'd hoped to pick it up yesterday but as my dealer's cancelled her autoships I guess I'll have to wait for her special orders to come in.

I think this is perhaps the best Christmas piece I have seen it is absolutely gorgeous and can't wait for my dealer to get it and it's on my shelf. I saw it at another dealers display and couldn't take my eyes off it! Chuck

I picked my Christmas piece today and I think it is a WOW piece. The number on mine was 576 and my dealer also has 5 other ones on hand and one of them is number 2002 which is neat for the 2002 Christmas piece. I almost bought it but I took number 576 as a lot of mine have number 576. If anyone is interested in getting number 2002 E-Mail me and I will send you the name of the dealer in Delaware. Hal

I think I found the snowman on the lighthouse... go look at the animation at HarbourLights.com and starting with the tight image of the Christmas 2002 flag as image #1 look just to the left of the evergreen tree in image #14.... I think it must have been a very sunny day at the lighthouse...

Great picture Sue! Glad there wasn't any snow on it yesterday, but Bob is right, I would like to see some lighthouses with snow on them. Is that round looking thing with a light on it what replaced the Lighthouse? Thanks for posting the photo. Bert

Nice job, Sue... it's nice to have a comparision image to the HL version... Is it possible to get a picture from the opposite bank, some day down the road, so to speak..

From the looks of the trees in Sue's picture. It looks like a picture from the other shore would not show too much. I may be wrong, but it appears that the lighthouse and half of the keepers house would not show because of the trees. What's it look like to you? Bert
